You’d never finish your training, you’d never become accepted among the witches of the Tower; the sea called you home so you put the halls, the lectures, and the books behind you to embrace the thrill that came with the open air. Salt in your lungs and the sea beneath you. The raiders were in your veins and there was a ship with your name on it, you with your sharp tongue armed and at the ready. Magic and greed, your grandfather was a wanted man and left this ship to you while he basked in the glory of retirement. Wealth in a carefree estate, secluded and in hiding. That was the most you could hope for, you’d accrue enough coin for your head that you’d be forced to leave the tides behind. It was that, or some upstart would find you and swoop everything up from under you; someone like you though? You had ambition. Wants of your own. Desires. You wanted more than just a ship with a crew, you wanted an armada of your own, you wanted to be so powerful that no amount of coin would be enough to topple you from the summit. Wasting away on some island, living off former glories when the tides were ready to turn at any moment.

the wilderness~

Witch of the wilds. Raised by a mother and proudly so; you saw the way a druid changed their shape and thought that it didn’t look so difficult. You studied the way spiders crept across the ground, how they wove their webs and caught their prey and through them you learned how to transform into a monstrous version of this. You watched the wolves as they hunted in packs and brought out the most dire version, a bear and a raven because while covens and stuffy witches preached about the five schools you learned from the world around you. Like a lamb to slaughter your mother had bore you to rear you, and to butcher you in the name of immortality. It was kill or be killed, but you learned through observation so the power she claimed would be yours instead. Her blood fell across your altar and you wandered the wilds free of any mortal burden, throughout history they found you adjacent to power. Real power, wild power, wolves and beasts that needed the gentle guidance of a mentor who had just about seen it all. In Lupercal the council took you in to advise, to help, and to stand just left of the throne.

Legacy. Any witch with power could call forth fire or lightning, any witch who knew how to draw a circle or measure elements could conjure a demon, and any witch with a text book and some scrap paper could work out the proportions for altering the body’s shape. To reach into another person though and undo the damage done by another? To slip your power through the inner workings of the mind, find what was broken, and piece it back together? That was a rare talent, a privileged talent, and it was where you excelled above any other. A witch beyond reproach, you were still a child when your aptitude for illusion was discovered, restoration, and then finally alteration. The five schools all had their worth but these three married in perfect harmony made your talents as a healer one of the best in the world. Curses could be broken, and no matter how broken a mind there was no one that you couldn’t stitch back together. Brought in by your Coven, contracted by the Senate, you would undo all this damage that was done.

You were all but born amidst a pack, the rare witch born from the union of a lycan and magic. Most came out ready to howl at the full moon, but you sang a different tune entirely. Patching up injuries and finding your way among a pack and a coven came as a second nature to you. Wolves could be violent and they could also be unruly, sometimes all you could do was stand your ground. Animals and people were vastly different, but lycanthropy blurred the line in between and required some understanding of both, you could be that for them: a bridge between. Rome needed you, your coven needed you, and your pack needed you. Lupercal was lost when it came to treating an injury, and with The Eye at your back you helped build a clinic that would keep the door open to any that walked in. A helping hand, a familiar face, and someone who understood just how difficult it was to live in a world that was unbridled violence for at least four days every month. Salves to ease transitions, medicine to help with the scars, no job was too big, and no wound was too small.

The Hopeful~

From one place to the next, your family raised you all over but eventually you were stationed in Rome. Keeping watch over this city for the interests of your family was meant to be your responsibility but you brushed it off in favor of taking some time off. Saw the sights and explored the countryside, when the coven found out they came down and they came down hard. Bound your magic to teach you a lesson that was hard earned, you saw the streets slowly deteriorate, a coven was wiped out in a single night, and another - necromancers - rose from the ashes. You realized three beats too late that your negligence had, in part, caused all of this. A closer eye, a cleaner narrative, and more careful observation of the organization your family had been working with for years. Amends were made and the Ivy restored to you your magic, no mistakes, this time, and to order you directed yourself once more.

The Regret~

In all of Silas’ crimes, you were complicit. Blood magic was a middling art and sacrifice was something you were all too glad to make. When his reign came to an end, the Amaranthus descended upon you with impunity. Your judgment was severe, in the bowels of the prison you were confined, your magic bound and your reform mandated as a healer would come to you often. Restoration for the mind, and someone to talk you through the process as well. Resentment was your first response, remorse did not come for many years later as you came to see your scarred hands for what they were: stained red with ichor. Your cell door swung open and many took this chance to escape, but you did not, this cell was where a beast like you belonged. So many years divided you from the Oracle who’d defeated Silas and the one that came upon you, free him, came the decree. War had fallen upon your coven and when the Oracle unbound your magic they told you it was time to atone.

BIOGRAPHY

Gillian Beauchamp ran away from home the moment she hit eighteen and within two years had given birth to a beautiful baby girl. Being born to a vagabond single mother; Moira’s childhood was filled with adventures. Constantly traveling from city to city, state to state, country to country meant that Moira lived a very minimalistic life never wanting more than she could carry in a backpack. For most of her life, they made the perfect team, best friends more so than mother and daughter, simply following their hearts and living their lives to the fullest. During a majority of her youth the young witch was homeschooled and while her mother made sure to cover her academic needs, she’d insisted upon putting just as much attention on teaching Moira every aspect of the craft. Growing up; Moira watched as her mother often used her abilities to effortlessly get by in life, so the desire to get by with the same ease made learning how to hone in on her own magic Moira’s top priority.

Shortly after Moira’s sixteenth birthday; Gillian was told she would not live long enough see her little girl turn eighteen, so she had no other choice than to tell Moira about her inoperable brain tumor, which had been steadily growing for nearly nine years. Devastated by the news of her mother’s condition Moira reached out to her grandmother, knowing that her mother would need to all the love and support available in her last year. The two soon after moved to the town in which her Grandmother lived named Woodbury. Once there Moira was enrolled into the high school and began working part-time at the towns magic shop.

Unfortunately, the local neurosurgeon’s last-ditch attempt to remove the tumor resulted in her mother’s death however to Moira’s surprise a week later she came face to face with the woman again, only this time to Gillian they were no more than strangers.  Having no interest in anything other than helping her mother remember her past and rebuild a life, Moira chose to settle down in the town and build a long-term future for herself. Having never lived in one place for more than a month, never attending a public school, and losing such a huge part of her life; Moira struggled with connecting to her peers. To get past her social awkwardness she began selling people hex bags, love potions, and various other items laced in magic until she was able to build solid connections through her dealings. After graduating from high school Moira went on to get a degree in business from Woodbury University, knowing she’d always want to be her own boss.

These days you can find Moira at The Witching Hour, the local magic shop which she now proudly owns. While she was never able to help her mother remember her past the two remain good friends. The young witch has put everything into building the life she has now and would do anything to make sure nothing disrupted it.

BIOGRAPHY:

Alaina and her twin sister Ryder were born on a beautiful sunny day in Woodbury, Kansas. Despite being twins, the two girls were very different but that only helped them be closer to each other. Alaina had an amazing childhood, she had two parents who loved her and supported her in everything that she did and she had a twin sister that was always there for her and then she got an adopted sibling who she welcomed with open arms. Alaina grew up loving animals and helping others and from a very young age she wanted to be a doctor and she never lost sight of that dream. 

Alaina was also a bit different from her family, her family were all siphoner but she somehow developed powers of a witch and when her father looked into their family history he realized that all the twins born in his family, one of them was a siphoner and the other was a witch through every generation of twins. It was a bit hard learning these powers that were different but in a way they helped her family as well, they learned to practice siphoning magic and these powers also helped Alaina help others.

She made drinks and lotions that cured people’s illness but she wanted to do more than that and so when she graduated high school she went off to Woodbury University to study to become a doctor and a few years later she was interning at the hospital she and her sister were born at. She was happiest when she was helping others and making a difference.
