HAPPINESS headcanon
Since a very young age, Annaliese was told that a successful performance was one that was controversial, and left critics, magazines, and listeners talking and raving long after the curtains were drawn. However, out of all the mindsets and beliefs she was forced into in terms of industry, she’s come to realize that the smiles on the audience members’ faces were the truest rating of her playing.
Their happiness, whether expressed in praising word or portrayed in facial expression was what primarily mattered to her and still does.
LOVE/SEXUALITY headcanon
It could be said that Annaliese’s first love was her music, or those who drafted it. Each piece she played was an affair, or ‘fling’ with the deceased composer. Perhaps the fact that she hardly knew how to express herself verbally contributed to her isolation, or selective transmission of feeling into men only left alive through their music. While producers saw profit in her playing, Annaliese found her escape where her mind and heart roamed freely, hand-in-hand with the ghosts of those who created the portals of sweet sound.
In simpler terms, no matter who or what finds her, she will always return to her music (her first and last love) and it will always accept her with open arms.
PET PEEVE headcanon
Although able to save some morals from the complete domination from her father, some of the man’s characteristics and views had seeped into her mind, corroding away her actual form to make a product of his design and liking. Out of all these acquired traits remained the woman’s low tolerance to those without direction.
Those without ambition or defined knowledge of their purpose, the wastes of oxygen and time who perhaps enjoy taking life ‘one step at a time’ and not full-on, headstrong like she had been told to. People who make mistakes in what they are supposed to excel in- or useless scum rather.
Annaliese has no heart for those indecisive nobodies, particularly those who dare to cross the path carved out for her long ago. This, as many know, is a direct personality match to Alfred Krause.
