Operation B-Day // Darcy, Grant, & Fitz
It had taken more than two weeks of strict planning, and lots of arguing on both sides of the table. Fitz wanted a movie night with childish entertainment to make up for what Ward wouldn’t have gotten as a child. Darcy wanted alcohol and guns and a crazy fun time. He had no idea what her reason was for that, he was too busy arguing with her on the alcohol and guns combination. It was for that exact argument that the celebration was postponed. . . that, and because they didn’t want Ward to suspect anything and skip town to avoid his birthday.
After the snacks were laid out, the grill was heating the patties and hotdogs, and the beer was stuck in the ice, and the banners were put into place, Fitz finally called Bella out from her bed. She loved that thing, and for that reason Fitz moved it every night into his bedroom so he could sleep by his big girl. She was the only Saint Bernard at the pet adoption, and Leo was over the moon the moment he saw her. He was taking her home one way or another, and it seemed like Grant was happy to help.
As soon as he was sure everything was in place, he twisted off the top of a beer, took a quick swig, and texted Darcy.
Standby for Operation B-Day. Calling Eagle 1 now.
He brought the phone up to his ear, waited to hear Grant’s voice, then sobbed into the line. “Grant, ya gotta help me. I think people are tryin’ ta, ta b-break inta ma apartment an’ I don’t know what ta do an’ I’m scared an’ I need you. Please- please hurry.” He grinned at the response and ended the call, waiting on the couch for Ward to break down his door.
Eagle 1 is in flight. ETA?
