It's too quiet. (Underfell Brothers Angst)
Warning: No Mercy Run, angst, blood, dust.
Cardinal's gaze was drawn to the dust on the snow, his brother's scarf flapping in the wind. His legs begin to give way. As he grabs his brother's scarf, he can only hear ringing.
"Boss- Paps? Paps?" Cardinal says as he pulls the scarf closer to his face. His heart was pounding in his chest. "Paps, this isn't funny at all." Cardinal's voice starts to crack. When he looks at the dust and the blood, his SOUL freezes. All he can think about is his brother's death, his dust, his scarf… Nothing of him remains. And he crumbled. His magic erupted, red bones forming around him as he cursed the world and the Gods.
"You've already taken my mom and dad! Now you take my brother too??? What more do you fuckin' want?!" Cardinal's voice shattered as he yelled at the sky. Cardinal's rage was palpable as he clutched his brother's scarf. "My fuckin' life? Is that it? Are you fuckin' punishing me???" Cardinal snarls at the sky, but his words and voice are met with silence… Silence is deafening.
But then his rage gives way to sorrow. All he could do was sob while clutching the scarf to his chest, but his grief quickly turned to rage and the desire for vengeance. He'd fuckin' slaughter the child. He was no longer given a single damn about the consequences…
Even if he died trying to.

"Cardinal!" Cardinal shot up when Captain yelled. As he summoned a bone, his magic spiked. Captain was unimpressed.
"B-Boss…?" Cardinal inquired as his breathing became more even.
"Your magic was spiking, are you alright?" Captain inquired, and Cardinal stared for a moment. He looked down at his hands, then up at his brother. The kid reset, the kid fuckin' reset… Why? As his brother shook him out of it, his mind was in spirals. "Are you okay?" Captain inquired once more. Cardinal smiled as he waved his brother away.
"I'm just fine, bro. It was just a bad dream." Cardinal smiled at his concerned brother.
"Well. I'll make some food; do you have any specific requests?" Captain inquired directly. Cardinal smiled lazily.
"Ah, bro, just some toast and your famous eggs." Captain walked away after Cardinal responded. Cardinal lay back on his bed and heard the door close. He shut his eyes. Why did the kid reset?
He sighs and says, "I'll figure it out later."
