Exploring The Grand Plan
A General Overview of the Grand Plan
The grand plan was borne out of my deeply searching ingenuity in finding a solution to Nigeria's persistent social, economic, political, and industrial challenges. What started out as a project to seek answers to widespread corruption, lawlessness, and abuse of power, among others, led me to the path of Yoruba liberation. I would say that it is sort of a divine undertaking, since I was concerned about Nigeria, but I ended up as a Yoruba Nationalist.
To talk about the former will be a disservice to the first edition of this publication; instead, I’ll pay attention to the factors that led to and that’ll drive the grand plan. Looking at the political, economic and social structure of Nigeria, it is just one big hell of a fraud and an injustice to the various ethnic nationalities trapped in it.
I won’t be into history as a historian since I’m not. I’ll be picking important points and the timeline from our history to explain my points. Starting with the fraud called Nigeria, it was just a British plantation, established to exploit and further British interests in the region they called “Niger area”.
Looking at the peculiarities of Nigeria, there’s no way we can say there’s something called a future for her. It is just a massive fraud running on vibes and nothing else. There’s no framework, no goal, no push, nor anything for any sort of positive change that’ll take the state forward. Our differences, particularly ethnic and cultural differences which shape our political, social and economic way of life, are not alike and cannot be reconciled. Make no mistake, we can't coexist peacefully in this evil political system without an agreement.
To take it further, this present Nigerian system is a misadventure to the Yoruba people; they take more from us, while we collect next to nothing. If we inspect the revenue generation and allocation, we’re given crumbs while those who contribute next to nothing take the largesse. Similarly, we have been sidelined from power, mostly by the alliance of the two blocks (Fulani and Igbo), and we only got it through the great man, President Tinubu; that’s why he must be respected. Preventing us from holding power and driving reforms that would have led to development and others of this fraud is the more reason why we need to exit. With that federal power, we were balkanised into three (3) regions by that alliance. Even till now, our people are balkanised and are under threat in three regions, namely, the southwest region, the south south region and the north central region, even though we could also claim territories in the southeast.
With that same federal power, we were oppressed, suppressed and crushed by that alliance during the protest for Awolowo’s freedom, June 12, among others. We have lost thousands to the hands of the Fulani people, something that mustn’t be tolerated.
To look at it from the position of the economy, we were sabotaged and our economy destroyed by people ruling us, who should not even be ruling over animals. It's a shame and a disgrace to the great Oduduwa people. All these things, among others, which will be expanded upon form the basis of the need for the great plan to lead us to greatness.
To even take a look at our society and not think to make a plan will be nothing short of foolishness. Our society is in a precarious state, degenerating rapidly, and it is exactly dysfunctional. Our young males are yahoo boys while the girls are prostitutes. No dignity or reward for labour, lack of opportunities, no avenue for growth, bad economic policies, evil financial system, amongst many others, have destroyed the fabric of our society.
Why should you work when it’s not guaranteed to give you a better life? Well, the better option is to engage in various vices, of which there’s hope for a better life. And what is a better life?
The better life, or should I just say a good life, is to live as a human in this century, which is:
Have a decent apartment over your head, an apartment not a face me, I face you.
Have a decent ride (vehicle) to take around.
Be able to afford food.
Be able to afford necessities such as groceries, fast food, clothes, shoes and other basic human necessities which are termed luxury in this poverty capital.
Be able to afford a basic lifestyle and support their families.
To break the cycle of poverty, which is now endemic in our society.
All those things above are why there is rampant fraud and prostitution in our society. If we fail to checkmate these things, we will have massive problems on our hands in the not-so-distant future. All these problems, which will be expanded upon in this series, are the basis for the Grand Plan.
After analysing and being proactive in trying to solve these problems, I came across many solutions, which is just a single solution that can be combined and expanded as the Grand Plan, an all-in-one plan that’ll set the course for the new age for Yoruba people. The Grand Plan has not been fully developed; instead, it’s a series of ideologies that’ll be morphed into a single policy document and will change our lives forever. Well, the future belongs to those who dare.
We cannot just rest and watch things unfold; that’s us making ourselves into Haiti. We should plan even when we are sure that we’re outmatched, lack resources and devices for implementation. I believe that our plan will result in something truly great and will shape this region for years to come.
The Grand Plan will be an economic, political, social, security and multi-framework to develop Yorubaland. It would not be nice to talk about the Grand Plan without talking about my dreams and vision for Yorubaland. Since the Grand Plan stems from me, it is primarily my vision of Yorubaland and how this region will be shaped.
Keeping it basic, the Grand Plan is my vision to transform Yorubaland from this present state, system and class of Nation into a great, industrialised, politically secure, top-class economy. In essence, I want the following things:
Massive industrialisation and a transition to modern industrial practice.
Investment in education, research institutes, and technological centres.
Massive infrastructural revolution.
Economic revolution.
Financial revolution.
Healthcare revolution
Become the manufacturing stronghold of Africa.
Industrial and mechanised agricultural revolution.
All these cannot happen without energy, so energy revolution. We have abundant means and ways to produce energy.
Political Revolution
Build power in Africa, our West Africa region and in the Americas.
We have a huge potential to be great, and some people might try disputing facts about how all these will be possible. In reality, it has been done before, and it’ll be done again. Joseph Stalin built the USSR from a terrible state into a world power, Deng built a poverty-stricken China, and General Park built a poor South Korea. So, if it can be done, then why not now and aggressively?
To talk about the instant benefits that I foresee for the common man, it will be the improvement in the standard of living as compared to what it is in this current state. It should be a new normal for our population to start a good life as soon as possible, with the state providing the necessary conditions for that possibility.
To start with, the elements of the Grand Plan hope to achieve just a single goal, split into several tentacles of the same body. To be able to provide a good life and further our civilisation, we must make sure that our people reach their full human potential. Lack of opportunities and other factors mentioned earlier are a bane to the actualisation of their potential. And while Awolowo focused on the education approach to break the cycle of poverty, I’d prefer the two-way approach to breaking the cycle, education and work.
With work, we put the population in the labour force immediately from their teens, from age 14 and co, to build independence. A lot of our people have that entrepreneurship drive, but are limited due to several constraints, which will be improved by their early introduction to work (voluntary and with good reward for labour) and building capital for their intended enterprise. To stop dependence and a beggary culture that we currently practice, early introduction and value for their labour will supercharge our population to full actualisation of their potential.
To further those objectives, and with the plan proposed, the vision is for the following:
Access to capital
Good reward for labour
A great economy
Access to quality healthcare
Access to portable drinking water
Access to quality infrastructure
Access to jobs
Good public services
Unemployment benefits for the unemployed
Disability benefits for the disabled
Breaking down of so-called luxury into necessities
Improved quality of life
Access to good financial and capital systems
Availability of mortgage facilities
Access to quality transportation
Access to uninterrupted electricity
Increased participation in economic activities from a young age
Access to cheap and quality food
Free entry into the top echelons of society, governance and politics
Access to new wealth
Ability to purchase vehicles at any point in time and at any income level. Even a cashier in a supermarket should own a car
A great leap into the middle-class status
Access to foreign travels, even as a low-income earner
How I hope to achieve all of these will be expanded upon, and it's impossible without you. So, when next I’m publishing and you see us, just know that we’re in this together to make our lives great.
The Grand Plan economic plan will be 4-5 consecutive 5-year plans to bring about a great leap in our lives; more will be expanded later, and this magazine series will focus more on the grand economic plan. Follow me as we journey to chart a new course for our people.
