The phone rang a distant tinny sound that came with calling across seas. There was a time when getting ahold of her friends across the way was harder than this. The post was such a painful process but modern marvels had paved the way for an easier time. Rayne liked that she had her family at the tip of her fingers. When the line clicked over, Rayne smiled. “Adrian,” she said quickly knowing this would get his attention. “How’s France?”
Carly knew that it was wrong, but it came to a certain point that she didn’t care. She was attracted to her teacher, and part of her was sure that he was attracted in return... But she didn’t really want to come out and just ask about it. So instead, she waited for his next office hours, and waited until it seemed like no one else was coming into ask questions. She moved up to the door, and nodded lightly at the doorjamb before she picked inside. “Professor Bianco?” she asked softly, her teeth closed in her bottom lip as she came into the room.
“I had a question about the homework?” She tucked a bit of hair behind her ear as she moved in front of his desk. She had her notebook in her arms, pulled to her chest. It was mostly to accentuate her breasts, in the low cut shirt she wore, combined with the very short skirt on the bottom. But if he actually wasn’t interested... It could serve as an excuse for being in his office... “I know office hours are ending... But I was hoping you could still spend a little time with me?”
In what could be considered their home, Beau was often busy with fewer business-y aspects of their lives. His mate was the business type. He took on the financials and the act of actually ruling. That was never something Beau was cut out for and he was all too happy to let his love take the wheel and dictate the direction. There had been a few steps along the way that of course made Beau pause and perhaps question his lover but if there was one person Beau trusted above anyone else it was the man he had bound himself to centuries ago.
After an evening in the fields, training the newer vampires on the finer points of fighting, it was safe to say Beau needed a shower. Not because he was sweaty or anything but because at some point during the day it had rained. Beau had missed it, of course, because he’d been fast asleep in a nice comfortable bed. The curtains had effectively blocked out the daylight and kept him perfectly safe in the confines of the ornate room he shared with his beloved.
The water, he supposed was warm, though the temperature didn’t register as much to him as it would have back when he was human. The steam that fogged up the bathroom was the only true indication of the warmth of the water. His soap said it smelled like an alpine mist but even Beau, with his extra sensitive smelling, could not say for certain in the soap did, in fact, smell like an alpine mist. He had no idea what an alpine mist fucking smelled like. He didn’t worry about it too much, truthfully. He thought it smelled decent and by the time the thought really floated through his head the shower was over and he was stepping out of the glass enclosure to secure a towel on his hips.
He had a plan, once he got into his bedroom. It was nearly sun up, he would likely have to drag his husband from the office into bed. He was one of the rare vampires that had no desire to sleep during the day. Truthfully, he had no desire to sleep. Beau liked to sleep, he needed it, even, but he rarely got it because he was too busy spending his time with his significant other.
Elena had been volunteering at the retirement home since she was sixteen. She’d become as recognizable and memorable as the staff that worked there. For years, she had been coming and doing painting classes, crafts, games and just going in and sitting with some of the residents to brighten up their day. It all started because she was looking for something to do that would look good on her college transcript, but fell in love with it and kept going once or even twice a week to help out any way she could. Some expected her to just get a job there, figured she might as well, but Elena didn’t want it to be her job. She wanted it to be something she did to give back and because she enjoyed it. She had learned so much from the residents already and couldn’t imagine walking away anytime soon.
Due to her experience and the way so many residents adored her, Elena was usually the one who the staff asked to show new volunteers the ropes. On this particular day, she was waiting in the recreation room for one of the new volunteers, setting out some boards games and cards. She’d been told he was coming because he had to do community service, so she was a little prepared .for the fact that he may not want to be there, but she tried to keep positive and hoped he’d learn to enjoy it eventually. Walking over to the shelf where the boards games were stored, she couldn’t reach the top and move a chair over to climb up and bring the few games down. She still had to stretch up onto her tip-toes, just barely tall enough now to tug the checker box down. Tipping it over so she could catch it before it fell, Elena wasn’t fast enough and it dumped all over the ground. “Dang it,” She sighed, climbing back down to pick it up when she heard footsteps and glanced up to see a man standing in the doorway, assuming it was Adrian. “Hey...Are you Adrian?” She asked, down on her knees picking up all the pieces to the game she had just dropped.

Your muse is intoxicated and my muse is carrying them tobed, and your muse confesses everything they feel towards them.
As of late, she seemed to be constantlysurprising others when revealing that she enjoyed the brief tastes of freedomAdrian was offering her. She had never attended a college party during herfirst year and hadn’t planned on ever participating in such barbaric behavior, buthere she was, having lost count of how many shots her newfound companions hadcoaxed her into taking and the world taking on a bright contrast she didn’tthink she would ever get used to. She was laughing too loudly and her speechwas slurred beyond recognition, Eden having long lost Adrian in the crowds ofpeople that swarmed every space of the crammed dorm.
She had lost track of the conversation she hadbeen attempting to have when a familiar arm then snaked its way around hershoulders. Most days she would be quick in her decision to push Adrian awayfrom her, but she constantly found herself pulling him in closer when she hadany amounts of liquor flowing through her veins. Adrian could see that Eden wasreaching her limits and he took matters into his own hands when he scooped herup in his arms and proceeded to make his way out of the party. “But mum, Idon’t want to go home.” She whined in a girlish tone she would have beenembarrassed to use if she had been sober.
Wrapping her arms carelessly around Adrian’sshoulders, she leaned against his chest while she closed her eyes. The state ofher intoxication was washing over her in waves and she was glad Adrian hadenough sense left about him to take her home before she was having that onedrink too many. There was something calming about being held in his arms andbefore Eden could stop herself, the words were coming tumbling out of hermouth. “Sometimes when I look at the sky, I just feel so small.” Shemumbled, opening her eyes and turning her gaze towards the stars that weretheir only witness to the unlikely pair sharing what could resemble a moment.
“Everything burns so bright and I’m justdown here dulling my own colors, but you want to know something Adrian?”She reached up to poke his nose with the tip of her finger while she spoke.“I don’t feel that way when I’m with you.” She hiccupped, thebrunette continuing to speak while Adrian led them through campus and towardsher dorm. “I always thought you were annoying and you still are, but like, the cute kind of annoying?” She scrunched her brows together as if shedidn’t understand her own speech. “I don’t know what I’m saying.” Sheturned her head away from Adrian who was currently looking down at her with anamused expression resting upon his features. “It’s like caring for acactus. You don’t want to get too close because those little spikes hurt, butthere is something endearing about loving something others won’t get too closeto.” Nestling into the boy’s arms, she closed her eyes and began to driftbefore she could explain herself further. Before she could outright say thatthe boy currently holding her in his arms meant more to her than she everthought possible.
“I’m just saying I can’t stop thinking about lastnight.”
The young woman was discovering that she wasbecoming more and more adventurous with all the time that she was spending withAdrian. He was one of the few people that she had come across that kept her onher toes and would test her limitations. Whenever she thought herself to be onestep ahead, she would look back only to find that he was right on her heels. There was plenty about him that got beneath her skin and would have her bloodboiling, but she also found being with him to feel natural. It hadn’t been thatway when he had first come into her life, Eden viewing him only as an annoyingpuppy without a home, but it wasn’t abnormal for one’s views to change withtime. And that was exactly what had happened.
They were currently sitting in the library andEden was attempting to study, but doing so was proving to be difficult withAdrian constantly prodding her side. It was obvious that he had no intentionsof completing any of his schoolwork today, not when it was clear that he hadsomething else on his mind. “I’m just saying, I can’t stop thinking aboutlast night.” Narrowing her eyes in his direction, her gaze told him shedidn’t want to speak of it as of right now. Last night had been a spur of themoment experience, the brunette piecing together a clever idea that would coaxAdrian into taking his studies a little more seriously than he had been thepast several weeks.
She had presented him with an idea, detailing howwith each correct answer he would give to her questions, an article of herclothing would be removed. But with each incorrect response given, one would beput back on. It had taken close to an hour before the first piece of clothingwas being removed, the brunette revealing more skin to the male than she had toany other. It had been difficult for her to keep a blush from her cheeks whatwith the way she had seen him looking at her. He had made her to feel desired,a foreign feeling that she hadn’t been too quick to brush to the side. Therewas a part of her that had enjoyed the sensation and a greater part of her thatlusted to feel it again. Not that she was going to vocalize this to Adrian.
Flicking the boy on the side of the head while heproceeded to lean into her, Eden frowned at him while a sigh escaped her.“You would be wise to forget about it and focus on your equations.”Pushing his books in his direction, the brunette tapped her pen against thedesk in an irritated fashion. “Keep mentioning it and I promise it won’thappen again.” She gave him a grossly sugar coated smile before returningto her studies and attempting to ignore the gaze of the male she continued tofeel on her.
My muse drunk dials your muse.
“I used to be a good girl.” Thestatement was true enough and was only made more believable through her slurredspeech. She had gone off to college expecting more from herself, but insteadhad sold herself short and had become someone she could no longer recognize. The constant breakups and makeups with Adrian had left the young woman wornthin and she found she was turning to ways that were less than mature to cope.It had been exactly one week and four days since she had told Adrian that shenever wanted to see him again and had promptly kicked him out of her dorm roomfor good measure. She told herself that this would be the last time, that thiswouldn’t be another repeat of the cycle that always led her to taking him back.
She didn’t want to think that she was willing tothrow her future away from him, especially when she was certain he wouldn’t endup anywhere besides in a hospital bed. But there was still something about himthat would bring a smile to her lips and bring a glow to her cheeks that noother had managed to do. “I’m sure you were doll.” She looked up atthe young man that currently held the majority of her focus, but his name wassomething that had been forgotten about three beers prior. She couldn’t evensay that the boy was a distraction; it would be the same as any other shethought could replace Adrian. They just made her feel lonelier than she hadwhen she had no one. And when she thought about it, a part of her stronglymissed the life she once had where no one knew her name.
Her fingers gripped the front of the boy’s jacketfor balance, but it was when he was trying to convince her to come upstairsthat Eden would unleash the fury of the gods that Adrian had experienced moretimes than she was certain he would admit to. “Get your fucking hands offme you cretin.” Eden placed her hands against his chest as he didn’t seemto be listening to a word that was being said. “I said fucking no.” Shovingthe boy back harder, she stumbled out the door while a string of vile cursesfollowed in her wake. She didn’t make it far through campus until she wassinking down into the grass, her hair hanging limp before her eyes that weregradually filling with tears. Fumbling through her pockets, she eventually retrievedher phone and it took her only a fraction of a second to dial the number of theonly person she wanted to speak to.
“Adrian, baby.” It didn’t even matterto the brunette that he didn’t answer; she just had to get what she was feelingoff her chest. “I know it’s late, but I need to talk to you.” Shewiped at her eyes, not caring for the makeup that was smudged to her skin.“I miss you. You hear me? I you miss you, you fucking prick.” She hiccuppedcausing the brunette to laugh through her tears. “I just want to come overto your dorm and show you how much I’ve missed you.” Falling back againstthe grass, she kicked off her heels before she was closing her eyes. “Ormaybe I’ll just sleep here. The grass is tickling my skin.” She laughedagain, but this time the sound lacked life. She was slipping out of consciousness.“Come find me in the morning, I need to tell you that I-” The phoneslipped from her grasps, landing by her side, the sound of her gentle snoringbeing all that could be heard through the receiver before the message ended.
This was the third week Penny came to the meetings, Hallie thought it would be a good idea to try to talk it out with people who might know what she was going through. She sat where she normally did, but she was ready to not talk again. It wasn't that she didn't want to share, she just didn't know how. Just then someone sat down right next to her. He was energetic and wasn't really picking up on Penny's "not talking" vibe. He grinned and stuck out his hand. "Hey! I'm Adrian. It's Penny right? Yeah I've seen you the past couple of weeks and wanted to come over and say hi!" She gave him a polite smile and nodded when it was appropriate, hoping that her lack of conversation would leave her in solitude. But little did she know that he was going to try with all of his might to get her to talk and relax in the group.
