What effect do opposite moon and sun signs have?

It’s not about the element. For example a Sagittarius opposite sign is Gemini, who is an air sign. Opposite signs mean that the signs have what the other person lacks. I’m personally not sure if I would ever end up with a Gemini. I’m more into fire signs. But my Venus sign is a Scorpio and that doesn’t suit Gemini really well.
