NEW Album: “The Promethazine Elevator II: The Dawn of Bermuda Lee” - by OppositionC & Koursky Lion

Starting with a mysterious monologue is how to start a good story. We have come so far with hip-hop now in its 40’s, its only right to respect the arts enough to aim for the highest possible target. We featured a record titled “Perpel Tea” a couple months ago, and this was the beginning of my interest in this new project. Music is a very powerful medium when used properly. “The Promethazine Elevator II” brings story telling back to the rap-game in a way very few have been able to execute.

Opposition C is a young emcee from South Florida with the ability to create soundscapes that paint vivid pictures. With a little vapor motivation, and an overactive imagination he has delivered music capable of being a back-drop in a Tarantino film. I was an early adopter of hip-hop because hearing Wu-Tang making references to movies I liked, and seeing GZA’s infamous “Liquid Swords” cover art I was captivated from that moment.

Some kid on the internet is going to hear this album, and see that robot on that bugged-out album cover for this project and he is going to feel the same as I did all those years ago.

With this project you get a lot. The complementing factor or better yet secret sauce to this project is a phenomenal producer named Koursky Lion. Hailing from France and clearly understanding what it means to be hip-hop, these two are putting pressure on everyone.

Cultivate The Sound & Preserve Originality: Cheers To Those Who Won't Conform

I get a feeling when I'm in the presence of real hip-hop. Something about the originality adds a distinguishing characteristic to an artist sound. Not everyone can hear it, but for those with fine tuned ears, and operate on the same wavelength we understand. Opposition C has shown so much growth over the last year. Its time for everyone to take a listen.

When I listen to this record and its just refreshing. It doesn't sound like every other Future or 2 Chainz record. Or even some of these New York rappers that have lost their way and relinquished the thrown to sub-par music. Its really not about where you're from because we've heard great hip-hop from damn near every region in the world, not even just the States. The world loves this music, its bigger than just making money or being able to freestyle. Now its about showing hip-hop is a culture!

We have to show there are levels to this genre, and there are categories of hip-hop. Obviously people know about trap because it's so dominate on the radio right now. We need to start defining some of these other styles of rap. If you listen to Fabolous' new record feat Chris Brown, it really doesn't deliver the New York emcee sound we expect from an "emcee" of Fabolous' caliber. He's not the only one dumbing down his rhymes and spitting a basic cadence anyone could put together. Manio has clearly had enough of the bullshit, just listen to "What Happened" (feat. Jadakiss). 

The one thing I want you to walk away with is a sense of craftsmanship. Meaning, don't let somebody sell you some shit telling you its cool, dope, or whatever. If you hear some wack-ass bullshit tell them, "hey you need to work on your sound if you're serious about making music." This is our music, our life, and our culture, so make them respect it!
