Did you guys ever wonder why Diane's Muses Gallery is full of tree paintings in Deadly Premonition? I mean it's so strange... why have a gallery full of tree paintings in a town already chock full of trees? Why would anyone go to a gallery of trees when you could just step outside and come face to face with the real deal?
I often pondered this during my first play through of the game and discovered like many of the game's cool details it’s possible to learn the reasoning behind the Muses Gallery subject matter during one of Diane's optional conversations.
If you speak to Diane on a while she's drinking with Nick in the Galaxy of Terror after midnight during Chapter 09 she will reveal that the gallery is full of tree paintings to fulfill her childhood dream of living in the forest:
I think it’s a little funny that York was able to get this out of her when she was a bit tipsy lol :)
I got to say learning of Diane’s reasoning made the Gallery and its contents a bit less silly and more heartwarming. What do you guys think?
I found a new Thomas conversation while working on CH04 of my LP. This is now my favorite exchange between the two. York invited Thomas to go to a club with him! :D I wish this is how the case really did end...
[edit] for those interested in seeing the full conversation I linked to the timestamp in my CH04 LP video
Skimming through the Deadly Premonition text dump @evonymus made years ago and I just came across an interesting Carol and York conversation regarding her mother and singing (see highlight above).
I hope I can this exchange within the game (maybe CH07?) There’s some lines of dialogue that I’m pretty sure never appeared in the game through out the document so I’m hoping this conversation isn’t one of them...
Too bad the text dump came out so garbled! It’s a bit hard to read XD
