To Valentin's hotel two packages were delivered, one exceptionally large, actually as tall as the person who brought it to his door, wrapped in matte red paper and quite flat, while the second was in a smaller black matte box. There was no card with either item, Bella presuming it would not be a challenge for the man to determine who each gift was from.
The smaller of the gifts contained three sleek bottles with a matte white top and a clear bottom. In Irish they read 'Merciful Death' while in English the descriptor read 'blood of my love, my sweet merciful death, wrapped in poison, drink me whole.' The bottles were in fact some suggested to Bella by her manufacturer she had declined as they did not fit her style but when considering her gifts for Valentin had ordered just three, with the label made just for him. Each contained old Knappogue Castle twenty-one year old Irish whiskey and her blood.
The second gift however was one he would have found himself intimately familiar with upon pulling back the matte red wrapping. There were only three in this size and all three had once hung in the home he had shared with Bellamy. Photographs taken for the opening of Erzsebet's in the town he had taken her to after turning her. A life sized youthful vampire Bellamy bathed naked, black eyes and fangs exposed in a bath of blood that dripped like thick syrup over her twisted and exposed cream coloured form. Sharp black false nails clutched at her own throat, the vampire's gaze seeming to follow where ever one moved. (@valentin-stjohn)
Merry Christmas, Valentin!
