k guys I'mma hit you with some WORD SCIENCE real quick so I was thinking about how and when you use "esp" as opposed to "especially", esp (lol) in relation to the object of the sentence and I realized that the two are not interchangeable, meaning there are instances where I would use one over the other, and where one would just sound wrong like, which would you use in these instances: 1) I love cake, esp/especially cheesecake 2) I'm esp/especially a fan of cheesecake 3) I love cake, cheesecake esp/especially 4) cheesecake is my fave esp/especially those are the 4 main locations where " esp/especially" tends to be found: directly preceding the object, directly following, and elsewhere in the sentence before/after the object (meaning there are words between the two) my hypothesis: "esp" as short-hand for especially is used when directly preceding the object ie. "esp cheesecake", but not in any other location in the sentence so, internetians: amiright or amiright?
