I love how Buck was the one to be with Eddie to discharge from the hospital. Like, talking to the nurse about medications, helping Eddie get his things together, driving him home. Shouldn’t Ana have been doing that? I mean, I know the writers needed to create a reason for Eddie and Buck to be alone to talk about Christopher’s guardianship, but Buck being the one to help with discharge and Ana being the one at home preparing for the party seems like a pretty obvious role-reversal. That scene with Buck and Eddie would have been a PERFECT time to squeeze in an important moment between Eddie and Ana, to solidify her importance. But instead they had her, the romantic partner, at home while the best friend did the objectively more important stuff??
Despite my shipper goggles lol, I actually see most of Eddie and Buck’s relationship as having both a platonic or romantic leaning. They could still go either way and be believable to me. But it’s scenes like this where I’m like???
Now, I’m sure they’re saving Eddie/Ana stuff for next season and just wanted to focus more on Buck in the finale, but the blatant pushing aside of Ana, to the point of giving her maybe one whole sentence the entire episode, in what should have been a pivotal event for a couple, was just...weird.
