If that is the last season of skam Italia (I hope to god it’s not, this has quickly become one of my favourite remakes) I just want to say that it was one of the best I’ve ever seen of Sana’a story.
We went through her emotions with her, all of the highs and the lows, the good, the bad and the absolutely heartbreaking and it was all done with such beauty and grace that I can’t even count how many times I cried, I’m too in awe of this wonderful season to count right now.
Even though this is such a familiar story to me (in broad strokes) it felt new and I eagerly awaited when I could watch the next episode because these characters have really come into their own.
Sana isn’t Italian!Sana, she’s Sana Allagui, headstrong and angry at the world but who has such a fierce love for her friends that when she feels hurt and betrayed by them it feels like the most awful thing in the world.
Silvia isn’t Italian!Vilde, she’s Silvia Mirabella, funny and supportive of her friends and confident enough to tell her deadbeat dad to go and fuck himself when he’s an asshole to her.
Giovanni isn’t Italian!Jonas. He’s Giovanni Garau: Love Wizard.
So if this is the last season, I want to say thank you. Thank you for these wonderful characters and for giving them their story because it has made me happy in times when happiness seems pretty far out of reach and made me not feel so alone when I felt like no one could possibly understand what’s happening inside my head. Hell, it even made me want to learn Italian (I’m very bad at Romance languages please don’t ask I’m just very very bad).
Just.... thank you, skam Italia. Thank you.
PS: I will take literally any s5 main you throw at me. Seriously. Well, as long as it’s not covitti or Laura or one of the other BCU girls. Fuck it. Give me a Spera season for all I care. Just give me more of my darlings.
