When you came across a lot of hate stuff about one of your favorite villains and just can ask yourself why some people put so much effort and energy in hating a fictional character, that they even need to write full essays about it... (and of course it’s not okay to have another opinion or such). I mean, I understand why he’s bad and what he’s done and that he’s an evil bastard and all... doesn’t stop me from loving him as - for me - good written and interesting shown character who has his charisma and appeal. Or thinking about AUs where he actually can become a better version of himself or whatever..
Nothing wrong with liking the bad guys, the villains... I mean, it’s just fictional and yes, my moral opinions are slightly different in the fictional world as in the real one. Nothing wrong with that.
@zip00198704 replied to your photoset “The Rape of Proserpina by Gian Lorenzo Bernini Opening credit of...”
what striking visual parallels!
Aren’t they?!? For a long time I was absolutely convinced they had simply slipped in a shot of that Bernini statue into the opening sequence... :-)
Also @sus-hukka I see your tags, I agree and you should spam me with all the pics of your White shepherds please.
im working on a legally blonde thing right now and as much as that movie has been praised for being empowering to (white) women (who fit the feminine norm and role society choose for them) *ahem* As much as it’s been praised for empowerment it’s reeeally misogynistic lol. Like besides the most obvious parts: It’s implied that the only reason Elle got as far as she got was because her boss wanted to bang her. And that she got into harvard at all was because the committee was horny. It was kinda implied that only boys (and angry lesbians i guess) applied to harvard, which is why they got so over themselves when a hot blonde™ applied.
Ye idk why i even brought this up because legally blonde is such a mess from start to finish but i have a soft spot for it somehow (??) One of my favorite songs from the musical is whip into shape which is wierd because it’s terribly fatphobic but I like the part where they’re like “if a guy is being creepy just literally kill him”
