Stop by our booth at the Archery Trade Association show January 7-9!
Each year, the Archery Trade Association holds its LARGEST event for the archery / bowhunting industry. Supporting the education and promotion of the commerce and future, ATA is a member-driven society that gives the archery enthusiast common ground to ensure a long lasting legacy. This year attendees and exhibitors will descend upon Louisville, KY, next week (Jan. 7-9, 2013), for the 2013 event.
ORCA is on board with ATA for this year’s show. We will be in Booth #356 for all three days, demonstrating our 100% MADE in the USA cooler products, unveiling a new WindStopper® jacket, and a new logo. The media and attendees are invited to come by and visit, as well as register to win one of two coolers to be given away on Wednesday.
Our staff will be on hand each day to answer questions and illustrate our products usefulness to the outdoor enthusiast. From bowhunting, fishing, to camping, and kayaking, an ORCA cooler will take the abuse, wherever you take it!
ORCA is proud to be an exhibitor at this year’s Archery Trade Association show, and hope that you take a few minutes to stop by and visit. If you’re unable to attend the ATA show, you can follow the daily activity through Facebook and Twitter. We will be updating live from the show floor each day.
Social Outdoors
Before the interwebs, magazines ruled the outdoor world. If you wanted to learn of new products, the latest techniques, or how to enjoy an outdoor activity outside the state, you bought a magazine to peruse. Today, it’s as fast as a couple of mouse clicks, and spelling a few words. That simple.
The internet has given birth to social networks such as Facebook, TWITTER, and YouTube. All of which has given outdoors men and women the opportunity to network with other enthusiasts across state lines, or on the other side of the world. It has also given the “Average Joe” the opportunity to connect with the outdoors world through photography, and videography.
The video aspect has risen quickly over the last few years with the endless availability of cameras, and setups designed for the various outdoor enthusiast denominations. Here’s a quick guide to get you going the right way.
1) Obtain a HD Video and/or DLSR Camera with SD slot
2) Shoot and edit the video
3) Upload it to a media source such as YouTube, or VIMEO
4) Post the video link on your Facebook, TWITTER, and LinkedIn account
5) Initiate the conversation
When you become more familiar with the social aspect, you’ll want to start utilizing “Hashtags” on TWITTER, such as #Fishing #Hunting #Outdoors. Those words with the “#” make it easily searchable. Facebook is a different creature. Here, you will want to tag your friends in the post so they can share it among their networks, by “Sharing.”
If you don’t wish to use video in your social venture, you can still use Hashtags in your posts, Follow and Like those who have the same interest, and the conversation begins. Easy as pie!
You can connect socially with ORCA Coolers on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Youtube and right here on Tumblr.
Come One, Come All
With deer season coming to a close, cabin fever peaking, and the coming attraction of outdoor shows gives outdoor enthusiasts a burst of energy. Let’s go!
Why go to an outdoor show?
Ask any ten participants or vendors, and you’ll get 20 different answers. The neat factor is that you get to see what technology has done to improve products of the hunt / fish / shoot industry from last year, the colorful personalities associated with seminars, and product demonstrations. There’s no shortage of food, games for the kids, and items you can’t live without.
Outdoor shows offer sportsmen and women, and their families an opportunity to take a mini-vacation. Typically a day trip, these outings are filled with plenty of sights to behold, product giveaways, and the newest models of boats, weapons, and recreational vehicles.
ORCA is planning on attending several shows to showcase our MADE in USA products to the outdoor consumer. Next week, we’ll be at the Archery Trade Association in Louisville, KY. Because ATA (and SHOT) aren’t open to the general public, we’ll be blogging live from the floor, and interacting hourly on social networks such as Facebook, and Twitter.
What’s the purpose of an Outdoor Show?
If product exposure, and demonstrations, technique specific seminars, and the chance to see new products interest you in the least, then you should go. Bring your family. There’s something for everyone. Aside from that, the shows give you a chance to see what you missed out on spending all your time in the woods or on the water. It’s an education as well.
After the ATA show in Kentucky, ORCA will be traveling to the SHOT (Shooting Hunting Outdoor Trade) Show in Las Vegas, NV. If you’re attending either, send us an email to [email protected] so we can make sure to meet in person.
