Skyfall Art-ober Day #11: Relevant Sky-kin Family Tree

Took a break from new designs today to instead make a family tree for the characters I’ve posted over the last few days. I left out Sedgecloud’s kits and Silverblaze’s kits, but they’ll get designs over the next few days. Birdflight and Cloudstorm will get full body designs as well.

Quick reminder of canonical equivalents: Cloudstorm = Cloudstar, Orchidbloom = Spottedpelt, Lichenshade = Gorseclaw

Skyfall Art-ober Day #7: Orchidbloom, Shadoweye Hunter

Orchidbloom aka Skyfall Spottedpelt, daughter of Cloudstorm and Birdflight, mate of Marrowclaw, and mother of Frostwing and Sedgecloud.

Honestly it seems that orchidbloom and possibly their mother was allowed to to talk about Sky and I’m glad for that!

Yes— Birdflight made sure that her kits remembered where they came from and what happened to their kin. Birdflight, Orchidbloom, Lichenshade, and their immediate descendants have an understandably complicated relationship with basically every other shire cat.

They view the Thegns as directly responsible for their kin being driven out and possibly killed and all other cats alive at the time as complicit. And Birdflight will not let the other shires forget their actions. She makes sure her kits know that they would’ve been Skyclaws had their father and kin not been driven away.

Their adoptive shire, the Shadoweyes, don’t love the constant reminder of their past crimes. Thegn Dawnheart tried, unsuccessfully, to get Birdflight to drop it. But she was not going to win that battle. Not on Birdflight’s watch.
