When you think of animals, think of this mantis, Choeradodis rhombicollis. The Peruvian shield mantis is native to North, Central, and South America. Its wide, rounded shape help it to blend in with leaves, and the colorful spots lend verisimilitude to the impression. It can grow up to two inches long.
