Another mission had been successfully completed by Spartan-197 and Marine-276. It was time to fly home for some much needed relaxation. They were about to arrive to the UNSC Infinity however their slip space drive started to engage. In a quick act the Spartan maneuvered the Pelican away from the Infinity and the Pelican slipped into space. It looks like their relaxation would have to wait. Both soldiers started to work on the control panel that had malfunctioned. After a bit of tinkering and a frustrated hit here and there the panel was fixed but their problems had just begun.
Rebecca let out a scream and it took the Spartan a second to realize that when they were pulled out of slipspace, the Pelican was now on a direct course to hit an unknown ship. With some quick maneuvering the Spartan and the clone pilot in the other ship had both spun their ships out of the way from each other but this did call the other clone pilots to come check out the unknown ship that had just entered Republic space. After spotting the weapon systems that the Pelican had equipped the clone pilots moved to an offensive position and started to fire at the Pelican.
A now annoyed Spartan decided to fight back and engaged the clone pilots in their ARC-170 starfighters. He ordered Rebecca to strap in before he moved to engage. The Spartan and the pilots were now circling each other flying around trying to get a good shot on the other. The Pelican’s tri barrel mini gun had grazed the armored plating of the starfighters but the ARC-170′s laser cannons had won the dogfight and disabled the Pelican’s engines with a lucky shot. The Pelican was now floating in the open space. Instead of finishing off the intruders they were given orders to bring it back to the nearby cruiser.
They brought the Pelican back to the hangar bay of the cruiser. When the Pelican was placed inside the hangar the troopers that were stationed inside the cruiser had surrounded the Pelican waiting on whoever was inside to come out. The Spartan had grabbed his assault rifle and handed Rebecca her battle rifle and signaled her to stay behind him. He opened the hangar door of the Pelican then sprinted out running towards those who captured him only to be shot with stun rings. Rebecca followed the same fate as her father and was lit up with stun rings as well. The clones soon took the two to the brig on board the cruiser and placed them in separate rooms. Their hands were cuffed limiting movement and they were now imprisoned on the ship. One of the clones had run up to Jedi master Obi-wan Kenobi to let him know of what happened.
“General. We captured two unknown combatants who had entered near our cruiser. They are currently in the brig. We don’t know why they moved towards the cruiser or who they are aligned to.” The trooper said with a salute.
