TurnipDay18 at OrdoFananticus was very excellent! I got two 1v1 games of Turnip28 plus a doubles match! First game was my Aunts' Ascendant balloon against the Temple of the Swelling in the TurnipConVI event custom scenario (very fun). Second game was against Crabs on the bridges (both crabs slain!). Third game was a doubles match, my balloon allied with snails vs crabs and good ol' Stranglin' Harry. Turnipday is always such a monthly refresh from the drudgery of work! Looking forward to adding some new models and maybe fixing up some newish terrain.

Yesterday was my 'Free Companies' casual #Turnip28 narrative team gaming event, held at the @ordofanaticus clubhouse in Portland OR, which chronicled the aftermath of the conflict between the cities of Sallow and Gerpe.  The end of that 'Wretched War' saw Sallow defeated, and suddenly inhabited by the unemployed and unpaid troops of its army, and the unemployed and unpaid troops of the Gerpe army.  These combined ‘Free Companies’ have sorted themselves into two factions: the Sausages and the Bees.  Both fought to control the city, both by seizing control of its various districts and neighborhoods, by the decimation of their opponents leadership, and by trying to corner the lucrative pickled eels trade upon which this riverside town depends. 

After three rounds of games of hard fought street fighting, the Bees faction ended up controlling six of 10 Sallow city districts and absolutely cornering the lucrative pickled eel market.

At monthly casual turnip28 meetup. I played a good game of ScrummfordBridge as St. Alamei's against Brotherhood of Wyrm. Then I tried the fish scenario as Brotherhood of Greed against Crabs. In that game, a fodder unit ate 7 of its own number to gain 4 extra shooting per figure for 32+12 = 44 shooting dice on 6s and slew a charging crab. You don't get to roll that many dice in turnip often, and it's also unlikely for fodder to kill a crab, so double chefs kiss there.

Some of my turnip28 play-group have been messing around with OnePageRules' 'Gang Wars / Gangs of New Eden supplement and having probably more fun than deserve. The club is fully stocked with great terrain so it's just a matter of bringing minis of your choice.

Personally I have not played a GW ruleset in decades but I find some of the current models rather fun to build and paint, so this gives a legit outlet for that.

These are my "Trench Elves" in a playtest of a friend's skirmish rules, called 'CyberSavage.' I tried to build the team to match the minis and maybe the combos didn't match quite right so it was a loss. Fun times, regardless, mainly because I got to set up the board using club terrain and got a certain look I had been really wanting to play this game on ("laser-sorcery" so the board should look like a background painting from an episode of He-Man).
