The first piece on Oren Ratowsky's new album, not unlike the album as a whole, necessitates a careful ear and a patient demeanour. Conjuring haunting memories or an impending fate, "Interstate 87", which is also the title of the album, takes the listener through a dream like trance before rising into a tweaked series of auditory memories. This opening track provides a mesmerizing and thought provoking opening that truly sets the mood for the tracks which follow.
