Page 5. ---- Secret League Seeks to Void Versailles Treaty ---- PROJECTS EXPOSED --- Restoration of Army, Navy and Monarchy Included in Progam ---- Copyright by The Border Cities Star and the Philadelphia Public Ledger Berlin, Sept. 26. - The sensational revelation was made in the Baden legislature at Karlsruhe by the state president that the authorities have discovered the existence of a great conspiracy with organizations extending throughout Germany, for the outspoken purpose of destroying the republic and restoring the monarchy.
Both Mathias Erzberger’s murderers Schulz and Tillesen, and some of the officers arrested in Munich on charges of aiding them, belong to this traitorous league.
Constitution Read The state president read the constitution of the secret league, which plainly said that nobody would be admitted as a member without first taking an oath that he would do everything in his power by forcible means or otherwise to suppress the Weimar constitution and put in its place a monarchistic one more benefiting German tradition; that he would combat all international and anti-national influences now at work in Germany, especially Jewish socialism and bolshevism influences, that he would not rest until the Versailles treaty had been replaced by some other treaty, that he would work for the restoration of the German army and navy, that he would implicitly obey any command by the chief of the organization.
It is believed that the authorities are in possession of the names of a number of organization's members.
