Synopsis:

For some reason this release hasn't hit me as most of their previous releases have.  Believe it or not Dying Gods comes off as a bit more straight forward metal than past releases.  So its a bit of a different approach them as far as walking away...well, not really but it just doesn't have the same brutal feel and punch that I am used to.  Still a good release, it just sounds like they were in a different mental state when entering the studio.  I do think this can grow on me more however.

So I am assuming this was a silkscreened cover made just for the test presses that were going to be delivered.  Kinda dark and hard to read on the cover.  The only part that sticks out is the pressing #.  In this case 18 of 25.  Its still an obvious special release however so it does stand out.

Synopsis:

Having grown up with these guys and owning everything from their demo on has me in a permanent state of bias, but I tell you, every time there is a new release I am now anticipating something generic.  It never friggin happens.  From the opening chords, this pounds.  I dont know if these guys give it 100% anymore, if not, you could've fooled me.  It sounds as if these guys are still into this as much as they were 25 or so years ago.  It just amazes me that they never made it to the arena level.  Such a good release and im extra excited to have one of the 20 test presses for it.
