How long have you had Fibro? Do you find any one thing that helps? And how do you cope with writing when you have bad days? I'm an artist but I struggle with getting work done on days when I feel bad. I want to do it, but I just don't have the energy for it and it frustrates the hell outta me!
I’ve had Fibro for...oooo...gotta think now! 16 years? Or at least that’s when it was diagnosed. I can’t actually remember a time when it *didn’t* hurt for my chest and other areas to be touched so who knows how long I had it?
As to how do I cope and get writing done? I don’t always. I do my best to plot out stuff to do over the month and sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn’t. I find being organized helps me, but at the same time it can sometimes be a hindrance. The added stress on days when I just can’t, can add to my bad days.
I am really lucky to have a best friend who works as my carer so that days when I just can’t, I have support here. I’m also lucky to have doctors who do their jobs and supply me with actual pain relief so that the majority of bad days I have something on board. Though there are still days when even that isn’t enough.
The thing that’s really helped me is knowing that even if all I did today was survive, that’s okay. It’s okay to take the time and just survive however you can. There will also be days when you get stuff done, celebrate them, and try not to be too hard on yourself, okay? You’re doing the best you can.
