Nicknames
Just randomly thinking about nicknames my various characters might’ve picked up over the years.
Lhei’to’s default nickname seems to be “old man” or variations thereof, sometimes “grumpycat.” Lately I’ve also been thinking that with his operations out of Ishgard he’s started being called things like “the Iron Wolf” just based on the fact that he seems impossible to kill.
Khebi’s nicknames tend to run the gamut, but most seem to settle in the area of things like “kitten,” “button,” and similar “you are so small and cute” titles. “Fumbles” sometimes also shows up, owing to her tendency to fall down stairs.
Oriane doesn’t have nicknames so much as she has aliases, though “the house ghost” and such sometimes get tacked on when people are talking about her.
Jijinji is often called all manner of things, some much more complimentary than others. “Old Jiji” is common, as is “you old lech,” usually meant humorously. He’s made an active effort to distance himself from the man he was earlier in life, and thus the titles he accumulated them are deprecated somewhat...
HAVE AT THEE
it totally looks like she’s crotch-diving the bandersnatch
What does Ori do when she's at the FC house and there isn't much to do?
If there’s nothing to tidy and nobody to feed/get drinks for, she initiates Precautionary Nosiness and goes through peoples’ things. Really the only “private” rooms she hasn’t completely cataloged are the ones she can’t get into for whatever reason.
Locks that can be safely picked do not count as a reason, I should note.
Rumor Mill: Oriane Teaurelin
Oriane has more assumed identities than rich people have shirts, and her cover goes so deep sometimes that her aliases have aliases. Even "Oriane Teaurelin" is not her real name. It could be argued that not even she remembers who she really is under it all...
Missing Time
The past week had been quiet, peaceful. The festivities for Little Lady's Day in Gridania were as sedate as all things in Gridania were, unwilling to risk disturbing the peace of the surrounding wood. Cherry blossoms filtered through the sunlight as Oriane stepped onto the front stoop of the little cottage she shared with her wife, gently shading the air with their fragrance. The morning post had arrived. Yseult and she were so private they received few letters, but every now and then some turned up. The sight of one envelope sealed with blue wax brought her to sigh, and to turn to tidying the house. Everything needed to be settled. It didn't take long, a few things tucked away, a note to the huntress currently out in the trees, and then she cracked the blue wax and opened the paper.
She was in Limsa, at the inn; she knew that even before she opened her eyes. She was alone in the room, she could tell that too. Good. Breathing in, she could feel the tightness of bandages around her ribs, the lingering ache of... yes, that was a stab wound, it throbbed deeper than a slash. A bandage held a dressing to her left eye as well, she could feel it. Whoever had dressed her hurts knew what they were about, the bandages hadn't slipped during her rest.
Who had tended her? No, leave it, it doesn't matter now. Whatever happened is done.
Time to get up and get on with life.
