I feel like im slowly coming up with OC stuff for this one story over the course of 5 years
So Aspen, the oldest of the 7 brothers, is the one of voice. I dont have any details but I want him to be sent to fight in a colosseum and since he can’t fight well, he sings his way out of the situation. He figures that people come to gladitorial fights for entertainment anyways so he may as well entertain them in the only way he knows how.
Idk what happens but from there he becomes a part of the royal household and uses his cunning speach to go from there.
Frick y’all I was reading into some old OC archives and I found out the 7th brother’s story. He hides out alone in the burnt remains of his home and lives off nothing until either the bandits come back and kidnap him, or until he is found by his other brothers and is informed of his fate.
Or maybe after he discovers his fate, it’s him to rounds up all his siblings?? Maybe once Astar and Aspen join together they go back to their burnt home and find Auron there, and the three of them join together.
Y’all so like it isn’t relevant until The Third Story and the Brother’s Tale but Yule, Yurik, and Yuurai all have birthmarks over their hearts so that Yuurai can match Ahren’s when they finally meet.
I realize I never put Adriel’s story down into my oc tag
Adriel is the second oldest brother, and his star is on his forehead. He is of the mind, and thus has completely control over his thoughts, emotions, and state of mind. This comes in real handy, because after he escapes the ambush on his kingdom by taking one of the single-manned boats hidden below the castle’s lighthouse, he comes upon a brothel out in the shore run by a ton of sirens. Of course, he just thinks this is a brothel run by some worldly and informed ladies (being informed considering how they get around and meet many people), and he enters hoping for a night’s rest and some information on a place to hide. Or, to know if any of his family escaped.
The head mistress’ name is Slivya, and she introduces him to Nerice, one of the lovely ladies (sirens) who first tries to seduce him and bring him to bed. Now these sirens don’t eat their prey immediately. Rather they intoxicate them, mentally, and make their prety addicted to them so that they return more and more often until eventually they stop leaving the brothel, or until their victim’s croak on their own from being overstimulaed mentally. It is then that they find and eat their prey, but this ofc requires that their prey can be mentally manipulated.
Adriel refuses Nerice, and she, thought confused, complies and lets him sleep over for the night without her. To her, he is a lost stranger with no family, so making him disappear is no big deal to anyone. While he sleeps, she sneaks into his room to devour him, but his bangs are brushed away over his sleeping form and she sees his star mark, labelling him as royalty. She, also knowing the myth about matching birthmarks, touches her own circle mark on her forehead.
Her soft touches to Adriel’s face rouses him, and he wakes, screams, but does not run. Rather he and Nerice have a short conversation, and afterwards she takes him out to talk to Slivya and the other sirens. There, he learns what these ladies truly are, and Nerice convinces Sliyva to allow him to work in the brothel for them as a servant, seeing as he cannot be affected by their manipulation, and that he doesnt really have anywhere else to hide. Besides, if anyone comes for him, he’s got a small band of sirens to protect him, and his quick wit and mental strength might come in handy to these sirens...
Eventually, he meets up wth his brothers and has to decapitate himself, giving up his mental strength, and his mind, forever.
Yo ok so I talked more on twitter about it but tldr I had a dream where I found a hrose and got real close to this horse and the horse became a young man and we went on a slaughter spree together bc that’s what you do obviously
So I drew this horse man (his name is Atlas) and in my dream he had a mole near his eye and long story short I added him into one of my OC stories.
I moved his mole a little (sorry dream me!) to near his ear and so p much what happened in the dream happens to Aven. After the ambush (he’s third oldest of the seven so he remembers everything and manages to escape) he runs away from his burning hometown and finds a country side. He sees a few houses, and tries to figure out what to do.
Now, by this point, Aven isn’t doing so hot. He’s the brother of hearing, so he hears a bit more than he should. He can’t communicate with them, but he’s able to hear the thoughts of animals and ghosts if he focuses on them. He first experiences this when he's very young and became real interested in a rabbit. He stared at this rabbit for a bit, and started hearing its thoughts, and he flipped out. He never figured out why, but when he would focus on animals, people, or even dead space sometimes, he’d hear whispers. He chocks it up to him hearing voices whenever he spaces out, when really, he just has hearing that gives him the ability to more or less hear thoughts.
He doesnt figure this out at first though, so until now he’s just thinking he hears voices, which kinda drives him a little insane. He also just experienced what he believes is the death of his entire family and country, so now not only is he schizo, but everyone who could put up with him is now dead. This slips him from being asocial to being almost completely antisocia, and he thinks the proper way to encounter this countryside village is to slaughter everyone and live in whatever remains of it afterwards.
So, now we see poor Aven, walking along the top of a hillside, overlooking a few houses, slowly making his way down a steep path to try and murder everyone in it. On this path, he comes across this large, white horse, with a little of a pale red along his coat. He’s also got a small dark slotch under his ear, which is kinda strange.
He immediately mounts this horse, which the horse is fine with, and they go together down to the town’s stables. Once there, Aven tries to tie up the horse, but the horse resists. Aven tries to walk away, but the horse follows. Eventually Aven gets fed up and screams at this animal, and the animal replies by shouting back. Aven freaks out again, fully aware that the voices he was hearing were directly in opposition from this horse. He’s too shocked to do anything though, especially when the horse falls over and flaps open, and a young man steps out. The young man continues the argument, but Aven is too shocked to respond until the horse man takes him up and drags him off and away from the locals.
A scream match later, and the horse man introduces himself as Atlas, who immediately proclaims that he will not leave Aven’s side. Aven threatens to kill Atlas, along with everyone in the village, and Atlas offers to help Aven kill everyone. Aven agrees to this, promising to kill Atlas last after everyone else is dead.
There are only about 15 people in this village, and they all are seperated into large houses, so it’s not a hard task. Once this is over, Aven approaches Atlas to kill him, but Atlas has a suggestion. He notices that he and Aven both have somewhat matching birthmarks (though Aven’s is shaped as a star, the location is the same.) As a final request, he asks to hear Aven’s story, as if he is to die, he wants to at least die knowing the story of the man who he was “destined to meet.”
Aven’s taken back by this, so Atlas explains some legend about matching marks meaning smth yada yada basically in the end they agree not to kill each other but to work together towards some goal. Atlas teaches Aven to use his gift of hearing for their advantage, and eventually Aven becomes able to communicate with animals, people, and ghosts through their thoughts, while he responds physically or verbally. He never gets so close to communication as he does with Atlas though. The two, as soulmates, are able to completely communiate fluently and fluidly through thought, and eventually develop an ability to even talk through their dreams. I’m sure they get seperated at some point, and this ability comes in handy.
I haven’t figured out his story after they leave the slaughtered village, but eventually he meets up with his other brothers and Aven has to cut off his ears, and he loses his ability to hear thoughts.
Also, in case it wasn’t clear, Atlas is able to freely switch between being a horse and a human.
