He dons the flattest look that Hiccup might have ever seen, clearly not at all amused as he grips Twinetender in one hand, the Shepard’s crook tapping against the ground in a clear nervous tick like manner as he glares for a moment. Well lucky for Hiccup that Jokul was about as stubborn as him.

“I don’t think even Toothless would let you fly him right now, nor move if he was here alright.” 

He says this with a hint of annoyance in his tone, blatantly speaking and clearly nervous, he never liked being nervous, never liked it at all really as he breathes for a moment, he can see his own breath amongst the warm air.

“Just. At least let me look at it would ya?”

He TRUSTED her?  

   She wasn’t sure why exactly but those words warmed the girl’s heart. Maybe it was because she didn’t have many friends,  or really ANY friends at all. 

 So to have someone  not only TRUST her but with their life --  that was just ....  WOW.   Rapunzel hardly knew what to say.  Emerald gaze shift from his face,  sheepishly,  fingers gently running through strands of her golden hair.  

“I ....  I’m glad.” The small smile on her lips pulled into a grin.   “I trust you too Hiccup ...  I really do.   If there’s anything you need,  you know you can come to me!  I’ll protect you and toothless”
