the family. #orquestraclassicadeespinho swipe for color. last night this young orchestra gave me the biggest gift. they got into the groove. they smiled. they danced. they played their asses off! a mixture of the teachers and their students of the #academiademusicaespinho , the youngest being 15! i actually feel as if they were the best orchestra for this kaleidoscope of black american music that i propose as a repertoire. because their ideas aren’t set in stone. yes they play classical all day everyday. but when the bass kicked in, the blues hit, they got right into it. and the conductor @diogocosta.bass was the right vision for the job. a first time for him also and the orchestra. i could only imagine if we had 3 nights in a row. now that would be the album right there. and to think some of them had never played some soul, funk, jazz, blues… this is what we do it for. we #doitfortheculture thank you to the incredible audience, everyone at the festival, the team of @casadamusicaporto and my crew for making this one night only performance possible.
