Little Sammy : D Assuming you've had Muggle Studies what is one thing you would like to do in the non-magic world?
It was one of the only classes taught by text books and lectures that Sammy actually paid attention. Unlike several other pure-bloods that he knew he had never stepped foot in the Muggle world. He heard whispers and rumors of pictures standing idle and moving by machines and wheels alone. No magic to help what so ever.
Boring, one would think, but he was curious about the whole thing.
What made machines move if it wasn't by magic? What made these metal carriages move across distances if it wasn't all done by magic but machines that several called complex but simple at the same time.
A few of the other students, possibly the muggle born, where talking all around him and he was finding it hard, or rather harder, to concentrate on what was being said by their teacher. Something about war over something as simple as Religion. Okay so some people followed Merlin and others followed the ways of gathering your energy from the life of nature. It wasn't anything to really start a war over, at least he didn't think.
"When I go home for winter holiday I'm staying curled up in front of the TV." One of the girls besides him sighed as she scribbled down on the parchment. "I will gorge on ice cream and cry along with my boys." One of the other girls hummed in agreement and Sammy looked up at them confused.
He didn't know what a TV was so he would have to ask but he didn't think it was a good thing if you had to gorge yourself and cry. Perhaps it was some form of muggle torture. And if it were then why would someone do it willingly?
"But you'll get fat if you gorge on any kind of food." He couldn't help but speak up. The group around him grew quiet and the girl that had spoke gave a gasp as if he had poured a bucket of water over the top of her head. Still, though, he continued. "So you command a harem and you will get fat while gorging on food." The feather of his quill tapped against his cheek and he felt clever trying to piece all of it together. "Are all you muggle born so strange?"
The girl, a Hufflepuff he noticed, stood up and towered over him in anger. Even more confused at her anger he looked her up and down and his eyes melted into a sympathetic look. "Oh I see you have already begun gorging yourself in the great hall. Is this why you will be crying with your harem?"
The girl instantly teared up and all her friends, fellow Hufflepuffs, surrounded her and lured her away while several of the other kids in class started to laugh. Soon after there was a chaos in the room over different views and several of the other Slytherin's agreeing with him and standing up for him. Needless to say the professor had no other choice other than to let class out early.
Instead of going straight to find Damian for potion studies he sent a note with Alice to explain that he wasn't going to be joining him today and to go ahead and continue on his own. There was someone else he had to speak to who just happened to be storming down the hallway in his direction at the moment.
"What the bloody hell is wrong with you, Samuel." Uh oh. His whole name was used so he knew that what ever he did do couldn't have been good. "You don't go around calling girls fat!"
"You are mistaken, Orrick." Sammy plucked at his scarf and turned his purple gaze down to his oversized robe pulling around his feet. "I did not call her fat. I simply asked if she had already started to gorge in the great hall because she said she was going to do it at home. And if I remember correctly at the start of the term she was not as curvy."
Orrick put his palms against his face and let out a loud sigh. Sammy assumed it meant that the reason was good enough and that he was not in trouble anymore.
"I came looking for you to ask about the muggle world." A few students rushed by and Sammy grew distracted as he watched them run down the hall, all three of the males trying to push one another into different females that lingered on the sides.
It looked to be an odd game, one that the girls seemed to be enjoying because they would giggle as if being rammed into were some kind of pri-
"Do you have a quiz coming up?" Orrick tugged on the Slytherin scarf to pull Sammy out of his thoughts. When the smaller male gave a shake of his head he started walking knowing that Sammy would follow eventually.
"What is a 'TV'. The girl had said she would curl up in front of it and gorge herself on ice cream while crying with her harem." He paused for a while trying to remember the lecture during that hours class. "And what exactly makes a car run? I don't understand any of this."
Orrick stopped in his tracks and covered his face again (Sammy gave a mental note to look into what would cause such a thing since he seemed to do it a lot when he was around) his shoulders shaking. "Come on with me to the library, there are books I have to pick up. And I'll explain to you what TV is. Much more simple than how a car runs."
Sammy gave a nod and followed along by Orrick's side instead of his usual place one step ahead of him. "Is it because a car runs off of a machine?"
"Good job!" Orrick gave a laugh and nudged Sammy shoulder with his elbow. There were no girls in the way so he assumed they weren't playing that game just yet. "A TV is sort of like how the paintings and pictures move here. Only what plays are certain stories with different portraits and groups."
"I think I understand." Sammy admitted happily, wondering only slightly if you got to choose the book that you wanted to see.
"Good. Maybe one day I can show you TV. I think you'll li-"
"Do you promise!?" The joy and excitement he felt made him yell out just a bit and he had to mumble a small apology at the sight of Orrick's stunned face. "Will you really show me?" At Orrick's nod he smiled happily and started a list of what books he wanted to see through this TV object.
