New look…? Smiles reached a hand to his hair and laughed lightly. Ah, right. It was true, his hair was rarely down like this. Usually he kept it tied up to keep it out of his eyes. The school year wasn’t too busy yet, and so Smiles hadn’t really had occassion to need his hair up. As soon as the assignments started piling up he would be back to his usual look.

At the news of Brooke, his mouth pulled down a bit.

"Ah, that’s a shame," he said sympathetically. "I hope she’s on the mend soon, at least. It’s no good to be holed up when the year’s just getting started." He’d have to remember to send her a letter or something. With that thought, he reached up to grab a lock of hair, twisting it into a braid.

"So," he said, his grin returning to its normal brightness. "You think the hair is all part of some grand scheme, eh? It must make me look like quite a fine thing, in that case."

Realizing what her own words had implied once Smiles had pointed it out only made Lucky flustered. In attempt to regain her composure she lightly pushed her friend, "You wish, If anything you look a lot more wild. Kinda like a lion!" She then smiled and laughed a bit at this remark. "Sorta nice though. Seeing different styles on you, hehe." "Hows the family? I visited in the middle of the summer so has anything new been happening?" It felt a bit silly asking since they had wrote plenty of times during the summer even after the visit but it was sort of different when you could hear the words from an individual. Those words written could have a whole different meaning and tone than what one would think. "My parents were asking about you actually-." Lucky grinned at this, they had been asking about Smiles a lot since she came back from that visit. Lucky assumed it was because he was the first guy she had actually gone and stayed  with for a bit, but it was funny hearing them ask her all sorts of things about him that even she couldn't answer. Normally that would bug someone but for Lucky it meant there was so much more for her to learn about when it came to her friend. That was exciting.
