Nowadays, the old veteran had learned to stay away not just from humanity, but from omnics as well. They didn't seem to react well, so to avoid any further issues she stayed away... But this one time, she would disobey her own set rules by coming up to another omnic. Another, yet this one was very strange. They /floated/ off the ground, and had... what were those, baseballs or something? She couldn't tell. Curiosity got Indina badly. "Greetings, civilian unit. Query: how do you float?"
@orvindictive
He had been watching her, not that he had been secretive about it. Perhaps such had been why she felt the need to approach him. Or perhaps, as it would soon be revealed, she was approaching for a completely different reason. The omnic did not stand to address the other; she seemed to be enamoured with the act of floating. ‘Existence is mysterious.’ The truth was that Zenyatta did not truly know either. To float was the way he had been created. He had never known enough curiosity to unravel the mysteries of his own existence. It seemed that others were much more curious about his being than the monk himself.
{meme} ❖ + Do you regret your past decisions?
[a question meme] accepting
I daresay you know the answer to that question already.
“[Do you want to keep your other eye?!]”
His hand curled into a fist before he could recognize it. Reinhardt nearly - nearly, NEARLY- swung. But he forced himself to hold it still. Do not punch her.You remember going headfirst against her before.
“….I………do.” Out through gritted teeth.Trying to keep himself together. In the present.Even though one eye saw blackness, and in it, the past.
{meme} “ i wanna say that there’s still hope but sometimes things just don’t go your way. ”
[Hope: confirmed.] This one had no hesitation - Bastion was as sure of it as it was about anything. There was hope, in and for, this world.
[Lieutenant can perform functions outside parameter:war. Unit was able to find alternate functions while being inferior unit with limited uses. Lieutenant ability to find hope: assured.]
{meme} ‘ [this is a world of endless battles.] ’
A long pause. Something in its code....itched.To follow. But also to contradict.
[Data:inconclusive. Unit existed without battle for growing days - over 30 days since last hostile contact. World contains other purpose than battle...even for war unit.]
{meme} ' [don’t act like you care.] '
“That is where you are wrong, once more.”His voice was steadier than he felt. He’d found something that should not be. Not anymore. And there it was. She was.
A rush of memory flooded through Reinhardt, that made his dead eye ache. He ignored it, propping himself up with his hammer, breathing. Slow, deep breaths. Under control.Needing it.
“I am a terrible liar and actor, and I am not acting. I do care.”Hiding the glance over the bullet-damaged form behind his glowing mask.“You look as though you have not been properly repaired in some time.”A subtle offer of help. Because he could not bring himself to offer directly, and hated himself for it.
{meme} “ [you have no right.] ”
She didn’t. She had no right. And Mallory knew this.
And yet there she stood, between the metal monstrosity and her target. Wasn’t even sure who it was.Mallory had heard the cry for help, and the spray of bullets. And despite every instinct of survival, she had run towards the need, and placed herself in harm’s way.
“M....maybe I don’t, but...I don’t think you do, either!” Facing down those burning red eyes with golden ones of her own. “To...to choose who lives and who dies. You have no right!”What in the world was she doing.
