cheon inho's life is kinda sad. I really like him in orvss. He has depth. So here's cheon inho holding yjh's head
Joonghak
I'm actually so scared of reading the orv side story (╥﹏╥). I know i'll like lee hakhyun but I got a little too attached to 51% ykyk
Just found out while rereading ORV main story 327…
Lee Sookyung told Yoo Joonghyuk “Everyone gets memory loss” and that’s a very Human thing, offering comfort while she knew/thought the reason why he didn’t have childhood memory was because he was a Character. Which in itself was heartwarming in some way. Also her way to acknowledge him no longer being fictional but part of reality, I think?
AND I JUST CONNECTED THIS SCENE WITH side story (615) where Yoo Joonghyuk told 49% Kim Dokja:
“Every human being suffers from amnesia.”
Ugh the amount of parallels/callbacks in this novel is insane.
Okay text post time. I’ve been re-reading the first few chapters of the ORVSS and had an idea. Couple of ORV Side Story spoilers involved and spoilers for the main novel too.
First off, it might have already seemed obvious to you that KDJ and LHH had different points of view in how to handle the first scenario. For starters it’s explained in the side story that KDJ could have saved EVERYONE in the train cart, but didn’t in order to benefit himself with the influx of coins from killing all the insect eggs. Meanwhile, LHH tries his best at first to save everyone in the station by gathering as many bugs as he can. They both had the advantage of previous knowledge from their novels (TWSA and ORV), however they handled it so differently.
We also know that in the side story, Hakhyun’s plan didn’t end up working because of the number of people who used the same method. The constellations felt like it was cheating/uninteresting.
But what else is there? Not only is LHH more inclined to save everyone he can here and throughout other parts of the side story, but in comparison to Kim Dokja he makes Dokja seem somewhat malicious.
Something that always stood out to me when reading ORV is that Dokja has a very pessimistic view of how people behave during the apocalypse. He thinks that the worst in people comes out naturally, and that all the death and sacrifice is to be expected.
However, in comparison the ORVSS teaches us that lots of people still have good in them.
It’s interesting because LHH is a KDJ fragment, so what makes them so different? There’s actually a lot of emphasis in the side story about LHH being a fragment. But I get the impression that he is the least like Kim Dokja out of all the major fragments.
That leads me to my second interesting point, the difference between the whole Kim Dokja and his fragments.
I can guess that the smaller fragments, like us, the readers, don’t necessarily have to be like KDJ, since we’re, what, 10% added all together? However, for the larger fragments, how much alike do they become?
In How to Become a Star Writer, the first abandoned novel with Lee Hakhyun in it, he’s described as not looking like KDJ at all. This is inconsistent with other large fragments like the Demon King of Salvation and Snowfield Kim Dokja. Now, this detail could have changed between Star Writer and the Side Story, we just don’t know. LHH’s real appearance -as far as I know- has never been described to us.
It also, as I mentioned earlier, seems that LHH has a different sort of mindset compared to KDJ from ORV.
Lastly, LHH is centered more around being a writer, not a reader like KDJ. Which is something especially interesting, considering being a reader is KDJ’s whole thing.
I get this whole sense of Identity that the Side Story seems to be trying to call to our attention. The truth is, LHH doesn’t seem like a Kim Dokja at all to me. And yet, they’re constantly compared. How much is a person their origins? How much does personal experience affect your nature? It’s like asking how much a child is like their parent.
I don’t deny that LHH is a fragment, but is he Kim Dokja? I’m inclined to say no. LHH is his own person, wildly different from KDJ.

I haven’t actually caught up with the Side Story yet, so some of my questions may have been answered, but it’s all just so intriguing to me.
Canon bondage btw
Something that ORV never explained was why the "Midday Tryst" item was allowed to exist. It's emphasized over and over that direct, private communication -- particularly "the written word" -- has a Plausibility cost that even the gods can't easily overcome: Kim Dokja's efforts to communicate with Dionysus and Persephone are physically-dangerous, Jang Hayoung's DM ability is a game-breaking cheat, etc.
That being the case -- what the hell is going on with "Midday Tryst"? It's an ostensibly-private text-messaging tool that anyone can buy from the Dokkaebi Bag.
There ought be a catch, and I think it's the obvious one: the messages aren't actually private. Someone is reading them. And since it doesn't seem to be the Dokkaebi, the reader is probably whoever is manufacturing the item.
My suspects:
