after dune attacks space they wander, injured and weak for a long time. they have a vague idea to look for someone named a fleck of flame- phrases had mentioned them, and he had nothing else at all to head to. all space knew was to keep heading straight south so they did, but their injuries got worse rather than better since nothing had been done about them, and eventually they collapse, exhausted and unable to go on.

very, VERY luckily for them, some unnamed members of fleck's group find him, and carry him back to fleck to be cared for! because... plot, space actually managed to get where he meant to, atleast

after helping space recover, fleck lets space stay to wait for phrases and rivers to arrive. i drew a comic about this a while ago but its pretty outdated, mainly space still having the leg. fleck has to remove it in canon
