In bed that night I invented a special drain that would be underneath every pillow in New York, and would connect to the reservoir. Whenever people cried themselves to sleep, the tears would all go to the same place, and in the morning the weatherman could report if the water level of the Reservoir of Tears had gone up or down, and you could know if New York was in heavy boots. And when s o m e t h i n g really terrible happened - like a nuclear bomb, or at least a biological weapons attack - an extremely loud siren would go off, telling everyone to get to Central Park to put sandbags around the reservoir.

Pensieri sul film "Molto Forte, Incredibilmente Vicino".

Inizialmente ero scettica. Pensavo che mi avrebbe soltanto delusa, che non sarebbe mai stato possibile paragonarlo anche solo un pochino al libro, tra l'altro il mio preferito. É vero, nel film viene omessa la parte più bella del libro, la storia dei due nonni, e tante cose sono state aggiunte nel film, cose probabilmente nemmeno pensate da Foer visto che nella vera storia non compaiono. Ma mi ha lasciato un piacevole senso di malinconia, che era quello che speravo di sentire, di provare. Delusa per metà. Il libro é tutta un'altra cosa. Ma il film é da brividi sulla pelle. Da vedere. Senza troppe aspettative, ma da vedere.

I want to read Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close again. Oscar Schell is probably my favorite character from any book I've ever read. I fell in love with him the first time I read it. I'm watching the movie now. It's just not as good as the book. I need to obtain a copy of the book ASAP.
