Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014). A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier.
Like Rise of the Planet of the Apes, this is a pretty fun action film with impressive visual effects. It also suffers a lot of the same problems - namely underdeveloped human characters with a caricature villain. I’ll be interested to see where this franchise goes though, and especially interested in the always excellent Andy Serkis. 6.5/10.
