It’s a relatively short line–a youthful, petite teenage girl stands before him, groceries settled atop the conveyor belt as the cashier processes her purchase.

“Ah, you’re 5 dollars short, m’aam…”

Without a moment’s worth of hesitance, he chimes in:

“I’ll pay.”

He produces a wad’s worth of cash from his pocket, motioning it towards the cashier–not once does his gaze flicker over towards the woman.

“Is there anything else you require?” he says, looking towards her at last.

             「♞」”So it seems we meet again and without harm to one another.” He would share a light chuckle as he could remember their last meeting. Not to say it was bad but things could have gone a lot better. “Have you been here long? I wouldn’t want to take your time up from your date, I’m certain he would love to dance with you! Its a night to be joyful after recent events don’t you say?” Lancer tilted his head just a little to the side when he asked her, still wearing a smile on his perfect face.
