I don't think I've mentioned the On The Shoulders Of Giants podcast yet.

I found this podcast a few months back and it's quickly become one of my favorites. Their discussions are always hilarious and rambling, pulling in all sorts of odd references. But they're smart, too. It's not just jokes and fluff and bullshit. They've got some brilliant insight. And they're queer as fuck.

I've been making my way through their back catalog... Listening to old episodes... Listening to them talk about Hard Reboot and All You Need Is Kill made me want to read both those stories. Which were absolutely awesome. And that's when I decided I to treat their episodes as a to-be-read/watchlist of sorts.

I watched The Price of Smiles because they covered it - and I'm not even mad. It's certainly not the best anime I've ever watched, but their discussion made it absolutely worthwhile.

Seriously - check these guys out if you haven't. It's good stuff.

On the Shoulders of Giants, a mech podcast, is officially beginning THE METAL YEAR as we move into March. On March 5th we'll be donning our sneaking suits to cover Metal Gear Solid, first in our episodes covering the entire video game franchise. Next up we're being victimized by seasonal anime watcher Alice, who made us watch Synduality: Noir. Then catch us at the beginning of April covering the first part of @xiranjayzhao's novel Iron Widow ahead of the release of the sequel this year, Heavenly Tyrant.
