What’s the packet features of the OptiX OSN equipment enable the equipment to overlap the Ethernet service network based in packet domain on the TDM network.
Access Layer Overlaid with the GE Ring, Convergence/Core Layer Overlaid with the 10GE Ring
The OptiX OSN equipment can be used to transmit Ethernet services in packet domain overlaying on the TDM network.
Figure 1 shows that the packet service and SDH service exist on the same network. The packet service is transmitted on the packet ring, and the SDH service is transmitted on the TDM ring. There is no interference between the two types of services.
After the IP-based telecommunication is realized, the OptiX OSN equipment can be smoothly upgraded to the pure packet domain. Hence, the increasing requirements for packet services can be satisfied.
In the preceding typical networking diagram, the OptiX OSN 1500 or the OptiX OSN 500/550 is generally used at the access layer, and the OptiX OSN 3500/7500 is generally used at the convergence/core layer.
At the access layer, SDH services are transmitted on the STM-1/STM-4 ring and packet services are transmitted on the GE ring. At the backbone/convergence layer, SDH services are transmitted on the STM-16/STM-64 ring and packet services are transmitted on the 10GE ring.
SDH services are transmitted in TDM domain and packet services are transmitted in packet domain.
In the overlay networking of the TDM domain and packet domain, the OptiX OSN equipment in TDM domain uses the end-to-end TDM service protection, and the OptiX OSN equipment in packet domain uses the end-to-end LSP/PW protection that realizes protection switching under 50 ms.
Anomalies Occur After Main Subrack Becomes Extended Subrack
The main subrack is still in the running state when it is reconstructed into the extended subrack. At this time, the tributary boards are not reset and thus the new slot IDs cannot be obtained. As a result, the tributary boards in the extended subrack are displayed as off-service on the T2000. To solve this problem, remove the boards without IDs and then insert the boards back to obtain the IDs.

Symptom
Change the running OptiX OSN 3500 from a main subrack into an extended subrack. Mount the extended subrack to a newly created OptiX OSN 3500. Query the physical slots of the extended subrack. It is found that the boards in the extended subrack fail to be displayed and that the tributary boards in the extended subrack are displayed as off-service on the T2000.
Cause Analysis
The possible causes are as follows:
The connection between the main subrack and the extended subrack is faulty.
The SCC board in the main subrack and the AUX boards in the main subrack and in the extended subrack are faulty.
The tributary boards in the extended subrack are not reset and thus the correct slot IDs cannot be obtained.
Procedure
Check the connection between the main subrack and the extended subrack. It is found that the connection is normal.
Perform warm reset on the SCC board and the AUX boards in the main subrack and in the extended subrack. It is found that the problem persists.
Remove the off-service boards and then insert the boards back to force the boards to perform cold reset. Then, the boards obtain the new slot IDs. The problem is solved.
Reference Information
The following part considers the UXCSB as the cross-connect board of the main subrack and describes the precautions for the connection between the main subrack and the extended subrack.
Cable connection between the UXCSB and the XCE: The EXA and EXB ports on the UXCSB board in slot 9 are connected to the EXA ports on the XCE board in slots 59 and 60. The EXA and EXB ports on the UXCSB board in slot 10 are connected to the EXB ports on the XCE board in slots 59 and 60. See Figure 1.
The EXT port on the AUX board in the main subrack is connected to the EXT port on the AUX board in the extended subrack. See Figure 1.
Cover the J9 jumper on the AUX board in the main subrack with the jumper cap and maintain the J9 jumper on the AUX board in the extended subrack uncapped.
Do as follows to reconstruct a running main subrack into an extended subrack:
Remove the SCC board, line board, and certain unused tributary boards.
Connect the EXT ports on the two AUX boards and remove the J9 jumper on the AUX board in the extended subrack.
Remove the two cross-connect boards.
Insert two XCE boards instead and connect the two XCE boards to the UXCSB boards in the new main subrack.
After the two cross-connect boards are removed, the extended subrack has no cross-connections. Hence, the tributary boards in the extended subrack are automatically reset. After the J9 jumper is removed from the AUX board, the tributary boards can obtain the new slot IDs (that is, the original ID plus 50). After performing the operations, you need not remove the tributary boards and then insert the boards back again after the configuration.

ATM business
OSN OptiX 7500 to provide four kinds of ATM processing board: ADL4, ADQ1 board and support IMA (Multiplexing for ATM Inverse) function of the IDL4 and IDQ1 board, respectively, can access the STM-1 level and STM-4 level optical interface ATM business.
SAN service and video service
Optix OSN 7500 provides transparent transmission processing board, namely MST4 plate, FC (fibre channel), FICON (fibre connection), ESCON (enterprise systems connection), DVB-ASI (digital video broadcast - asynchronous serial interface) and Ge business access and transparent transmission. MST4 boards are provided with 4 independent multi service access ports.
The built-in WDM Technology
OptiX OSN 7500 provides dual OADM in MR2A/MR2C and any rate of wavelength conversion board LWX, built-in WDM technology to achieve. Following their characteristics:
MR2A/MR2C board support arbitrary adjacent ITU-T G.692 suggested two standard wavelength (wavelength interval 100GHz) on, the working wavelength range is 1535.82nm ~ 1560.61nm.
MR2A/MR2C board can be used as the two wave up and down of the OTM site. 2 MR2A/MR2C boards in series can be upgraded to 4 waves up and down the OTM site.
MR2A/MR2C board can be combined with the LWX board to achieve the two wave up and down the OADM site.
LWX board to achieve the customer side signal wavelength and meet the G.692 ITU-T standard wavelength between the conversion, complete and transparent signal transmission.
To provide the 3R function to the customer down signal (rate range 34Mbit/s~2.7Gbit/s), carry on the clock recovery, and monitor the rate.
Two types of LWX are provided, one is single shot, and one is a double one.
Double collection and selection of the lwx plate support plate, optical channel protection functions are achieved by a single plate, the protection switching time is less than 50ms.
LWX single board single receiving support board protection, support 1 + 1 in the backup protection, protection switching time is less than 50ms.
Service access capability
OSN OptiX 7500 through the configuration of different types, different number of single board to achieve different capacity of business access.
