How to Set Automatic Laser Shutdown on OSN7500
Automatic laser shutdown is a procedure to automatically shut down the laser when there is no input light and stop emitting optical signals on OSN7500. This function reduces the working time of lasers and extend the service life of lasers. In addition, this function avoids the damage to human bodies due to laser leakage.
Prerequisites
· You are an NM user with Operator Group rights or higher.
· The optical interface board must be created and must work normally.
Impact on System
when a fault occurs to the fiber, or the received optical signals are lost, the laser is automatically off, interrupting the services in the transmit direction of the board where the laser is located.
The board where the laser is located periodically checks whether an LOS alarm is reported in the receive direction of the laser. If the ALS function is enabled for the laser, the board automatically starts the transmit optical module of the laser when the LOS alarm clears in the receive direction.
