hi!! so recently my area flushed all the fire hydrants for the first time in forever. this sent all this rust through our tap water and it looked like something straight out of flint, michigan. smelled bad and was brown in color. it cleared up since then but it still has a brown tint to it. when it looks clear, how long do you think i should wait before using it for WC's? im seriously terrified right now i don't want to hurt my little guy. ive been trying to use bottled water but i need so many

hi!! i have a question about my new female betta, shirley. i got her on the 5th of this month and she is living in a planted and cycled 20 gallon tank. ever since i got her, most of her day consists of glass surfing. she barely goes anywhere else in the tank except for along the walls. is this behavior normal and will she cease to do it as time goes on? i think she sees her reflection but she shows no signs of stress and she has not flared once. water is 0/0/5, temp is 81*F, and pH is 7.2.

Hey, there. :) My girl spends a lot of time patrolling the glass, too. I think she’s just hyper aware of us being outside of the aquarium. When she’s not surfing, she’s usually hunting for little critters to eat amongst the plants.

hi!! so i'm prepping for a betta tank and my api freshwater master test kit arrived yesterday. i tested the pH of my tap water MANY MANY TIMES and it keeps reading 6.4. i know bettas like it more neutral and i'm very concerned about this. i'm afraid if i try to get pH buffers and stuff i'm just gonna mess it up more. do you think the betta will be alright after accumulating him/her very carefully? will he/she be able to live a full life with that low of a pH?

Yup, 6.4 is fine as long as you keep it steady. While they prefer it being closer to 7, bettas are hardy. As long as you don’t mess with it too much, your fish should adjust and be okay. (I spend an average of an hour and a half acclimating my new fish for best results in the beginning.)

There are many factors that determine a betta’s full life but by acclimating and not messing too much with the pH, you should be able to at least eliminate that stressor.

yea its good to steer away from deviantart. they won't do anything if your art gets stolen.

Well I don’t really get any art thieves as far as I know. Maybe it’s because I’m not popular enough, or no one tells me. I only had apox. 1 theft, and that was for my Yooka-Laylee art.

But it is a good factor that I have kept in mind. Not to mention it’s basically pick a hell at this point because tumblr has a similar issue, same with FA, Pixeliv, and etc on the subject.

Honestly if you think any place is safe from art theft, you’d be damned. Art theft is honestly any where and possibly everywhere. It just some sites actually do things better than others form time to time.

Honestly I’m just saying keep an eye out on your artwork, watermark it, make the not watermarked a pay to get. Like those sort of tactics could help prevent theft.
