I already made this rant on Twitter but seriously I was close to crying and I'm kinda shaking now Oregon State's women's basketball is in the sweet sixteen! They're going to Texas! Now here's a quick background on the situation. Since men and women's basketball teams travel, we've put together specific bands to travel with them. "Black" band goes with the men and "Orange" band goes with the women. I am in Orange Band, have been for three years. I love the women's team with all my heart I never want to leave Orange band. Men's basketball went to Oklahoma this weekend and lost. Black band got to travel with them. OSU hosted the first two rounds so we didn't get to travel, but now we can! So you'd expect that Orange band would travel with them, right? Once the game was over tonight the assistant director called us in and said that they were unsure who was going to travel. Bullshit! I just got the email and the director chose Black band members to travel to Texas. I'm shaking I'm so mad. This isn't fair at all. They had their chance to travel and they got to go to Oklahoma! They shouldn't get another chance to travel! So as an open letter to my band director (Who doesn't even go to women's games anymore because fuck them right? Men's games are more interesting!) FUCK YOU.

So every year, Ohio State puts on a dance marathon in support of children with cancer and their families, and this year I am dancing in order to raise $250, or the cost of one round of chemotherapy for an affected child.
