iCloud syncing of Mail rules – tip

If you are having a problem restoring or resetting apple mail in os x yosemite I found the tip at the bottom of this paged helped – every time I tried to recreate the mail folder in ~/Library it would come up with the wrong volume for the synced rules, which would cause mail to crash, and the solution was to remove the file as stated here:

OSX Yosemite

I’ve been using OSX 10.10 Yosemite for a little while now and overall I like it much more than I liked the changes from iOS6 to 7. Apple seems to have really learned form the backlash of ios7 and have taken their time. Even though it’s only a beta they’ve clearly been perfecting and tweaking the operating system. The new dark mode is great (better than obsidian), the subtle transparency is working really well and looks especially good the way they’ve implemented it in the calculator. And I’ve changed my back ground to something more colourful to take advantage of the translucency. In terms of usability it’s a little better than mavericks although I’ll have to wait for ios8 to test hand off, which will hopefully be the biggest addition. overall a solid upgrade.
