Tamagotchi Uni: Software Updates
One of the best features about the Tamagotchi Uni is the ability to update the device over the air thanks to the Wi-Fi technology built into it. Wi-Fi enables so many major features of the Tamagotchi Uni, but one area we do not see mentioned a lot is the ability for the Tamagotchi Uni to received software updates over the air.
That’s right, you can fetch a software update right on your Tamagotchi Uni. Bandai has mentioned that future software updates would enhance gameplay, which is super vague, and we kind of like the mystery of it. We suspect that Bandai will patch bugs, enhance the software, and update content as well. The manual indicates that downloadable content along with Tama Fashion will be updated. How exciting is that? You don’t necessarily need to fetch the latest update manually, you can turn on automatic updates. When enabled, automatic updates will connect to the Wi-Fi network once a day to check for updates and install them. Automatic updates will occur only when your Tamagotchi is sleeping, and when the device is connected to the charging cable. You’ll see that the device indicates “Connecting” when the software update is being downloaded and installed. You can also see when an update is available if there is a “New!” banner above the “Update” option in the network icon.
One thing to note is that once an update is completed, you’ll need to time the date and time on your Tamagotchi Uni.
