Answering in japanese instead of of the foreign language you are studying

Anybody else have that problem where someone you know says that they know a Takizawa (just an example, but you get what I mean) and then you say that you know one too, but then you realize that the one you know is from a anime/manga and now you have to explain everything (or just go along with it and fall into a deep hole.......)

Or is it just me.......
