I’ve been looking back on my Othello notes from when I studied it last year. These are some of my favourites.
Also a fairly accurate representation of what this blog’s going to be about, my dumb humour mixed with literature and history.

Hey y’all guess what I’ve got more Othello notes
so our act 2 notes for Othello are due today which I finished in the period before it was due (noregrets) so here they are, back again in true tumblr fasion:
Scene 1 -Gentlemen and Montano (holla) see a ship coming in the distance, also it couldn't possibly be the Turks because they wouldn't have survived the storm (they're not wrong)-Guess what it's Cassio and his crew (Othello is still at sea, also Iago) -It's lowkey revealed that Montano worked for Othello -A second ship comes in ("I hope it's Iago!" "Shiiiii-") -Cassio tells Montano that Othello is married but he doesn't know to who -"Who's at the harbour" "It's Iago" "Shiiiii-" -Iago arrived like way faster than they all expected him to because he caught good winds (he's totally a pirate) -Cassio also offhandedly introduces Dessie to Montano, because she was placed in Iago's care for the trip across sea -A second gentleman kisses Emilia and Iago goes on this whole rant about how it really doesn't matter that much, because if she was married to him he wouldn't want to kiss her anyway ("I'm just kidding" "suuuuuure") -Iago and Desdemona get in an argument about what if a women is beautiful vs. smart vs. ugly -This entire encounter basically reveals that Iago is lowkey sexist?? (tag for period-typical) -Cassio talks to Dessie on the side and Iago highkey becomes a meme ("Kiiiss, kiiiiiss") -"That's the moor, I recognize his trumpet!" -Othello's ship is here whoop he gets his reunion with Desdemona -Iago's muttering to himself like a jealous high school girl -Roderigo comes in with Iago when everyone else leaves, and he tells Roderigo that Dessie's completely in love with Cassio. Roderigo doubts the plan but Iago reassures him. He tells Roderigo to make Cassio angry somehow, to get Cassio fired and out of Othello's favour. -Iago then monologues and convinces himself that Cassio really is in love with Desdemona
Scene 2: -It's literally one paragraph from the Herald talking about while all of the dudes are celebrating and drinking, Othello is off celebrating with his wife in a different way (wink wink) so don't bother him.
Scene 3: -Cassio's on guard duty but Iago comes to find him and convince him to have a drink -Iago lowkey tries to get Cassio to admit that he loves Desdemona, but he doesn't -"Naw, I don't wanna drink" "Come on, just one glass" "pEer prEsSUrE" -Cassio goes off to get the other people so Iago has more time to monologue about his plan to get Cassio drunk -"My god they've given me a lot to drink" same Cas -Some banter among friends also this is now a musical thanks to Iago -They try and get Cassio to sing with them and they press but Cassio gets angry and says a bunch of not nice stuff to Iago about how he's supposed to die before Cas -Cassio insists he's not drunk (he's totally drunk) -"Is he always like this" "yes" -Iago convinces Montano that Cassio is an alcoholic -Iago tells Roderigo to put his plan into action and follow the lieutenant out -Well it worked, now Cassio's after Roderigo's head -Montano tries to calm down Cassio but Cas' having none of it and tries to fight Montano (they both get in pretty good shots tbh) -Othello and co storm into the [bar? Barracks?] Everyone kind of refuses to answer until Montano tells Iago r to spill the whole story "guiltily" -"I know you’re close to Cassio, but if you diverge from the truth in any way, you’re not a true soldier." -Othello basically fires Cassio (byeee little Sebastian) -"My reputation is hurt Iago" "Oh thank god I thought you meant physically hurt" "wow ok" -Cassio basically complains for a while in self pity about getting drunk and making stupid choices, but Iago's like "naw dude don't worry it happens" and basically convinces him to go talk to Desdemona about it and get Desdemona to take Cas' side and try and get Cas back in the army and back in Othello's favour -This seems like a great idea except Iago knows Othello, and knows it's going to backfire right according to plan -Cassio exists, Iago has another chance to monologue which he definitely takes, and he talks about his plan progressing exactly as he wanted it to, and how Othello won't trust Dessie as much when he learns that she spent time with Cassio alone for whatever reason -Roderigo comes in and tells Iago that he's given up, it's not working and he's going back to Venice, so Iago convinces him that it is working, just go back to where you were sleeping and wait -Iago monologues again and talks about his next steps in his plan, Cassio and Desdemona alone in a room together
The top portion of my legs are extremely achy from the bike ride
Every time I stand up from sitting down too long it hurts a lot
I really wish I could take one day off from school ;-;
