Combination knife and flintlock pistol, this one is long gone but not forgotten. I understood it to be a replica (built decades ago) copying something out of a medieval castle somewhere in Europe. #knifeporn #knifecollector #knivesofinstagram #knivesandart #knifeaddict #othercoolstuff #knifeology.com

2012- A Review of Consumption
On January 23, 2012, I began a running list of every single TV show and movie that I watched. I had read about someone else online doing this, and thought it was a great idea to keep track of all visual media I consumed. I also just like lists a lot, and being able to quantify my watching habits felt like something I would enjoy doing. Below you'll find some numbers that represent how much I watched this past (almost full) year. I have a lot of time on my hands.
Movies:
116 movies were viewed, of which 94 were first time viewings
63 were viewed on Netflix
21 in theaters
19 on DVD
12 on Blu Ray
2 on iTunes
1 on TV
Using 110 minutes as the average length of a feature film, that means I watched .338 movies per day, or around 37 minutes of film every day of the year (starting on 1/23)
This also means I watched almost 213 hours of movies in 2012.
TV
794 episodes of television were viewed, of which 762 were first time viewings
73 different shows were watched over the course of the year
447 episodes were watched on Netflix
227 on TV (original airing/DVR/VOD)
64 on Hulu
46 on HBO Go
21 on DVD
7 on Youtube
1 on Amazon on Demand
Using the average between a 22 minute 'half hour' program and 45 minute 'hour' program of 33.5 minutes of content, I spent about 443 hours this year watching TV.
I watched 2.31 episodes per day over the course of the year.
Using the combined 213 hours and 443 hours of consumption, I watched 656 hours of visual media out of a possible 8237.81 hours in the year (remembering to subtract the first 22 days of January). Therefore, 8% of my year was spent in front of a screen. If I only calculate using hours I'm awake, with the average of 8 hours a day, that number jumps to 12.3% in front of screen. This means sleeping and watching things made up a combined 48% of my time. Let's get that number over half for 2013.
It's a Trap!
Awesome Comic Book Shoes
Check out the link to see some shoes you'll be able to buy. Reebok and Marvel teamed up to get some pretty cool looking designs. I'm really enjoying the Red Skull Hydra ones. No word on when they're coming out, but keep your eyes peeled.
