fuck off humans who break up my otps 2k15
Systems of Knowledge, an interesting subject which became pointless when the examination board decided it was compulsory to enter university. IMMHO it should not be examinable. Wish me luck for my exam tomorrow... (also final exam in May 2015 :/ )
When Do You Know?
I've been wondering a lot about homeless people in my school area - and when people come ask you for your money. When do you know they are portraying the truth and when they seriously need help? But When do you know it's all a lie?
Yesterday, on my way back to school, I bumped into this guy infront of my house. He was asking if he could do some yard work in the front for a quick buck or two -- so he could get some gas money to return to his family.
His story goes: His wife has been in the hospital the past few day due to respiratory failure. So the doctors are trying to save her. He hasn't gone home much so he's grown some facial hair. He came out of the hospital to buy his daughter some food. On his way back, he runs out of gas. So he came to our neighboorhood. Why? He is supposidly one of our neighbors living here for the past 7 years. I wouldn't know since I just moved here.
For me, I know how hospital bills will be. He probably took leave from work or is not currently employed (or recently got unemployed). Perhaps their income all came from his wife - who is now not doing so well. So they are low on cash. I'm not sure how old his daughter is, but she sounds little -- not a baby, but probably younger than 5. If she's constantly in the hospital with her mom and dad, she's probably not enrolled in school at the moment.
I got his contact information, including the hospital and room number where his wife should be. So I gave him a few dollars so he could make it back to his wife and daughter safely. And I went along my way back to school.
So then I thought... When do you know when someone really needs this help? Is his story true? What if I thought he was lying and didn't help him? (but then turns out his story is true).
I just wish there was a way to tell whether what they say is the truth or a mere lie to get money.
worried of trying, scared of rejection, caring too much of what others will think, hoping they wont judge, insecurities taking over, just take the risk?
