@otomeloquy liked for a starter!
It didn’t take long for the sound of chirping crickets to become like second nature to Ali. Wandering the woods was dangerous as hell, even without taking into account the circumstances that had brought her here, and she tried to make her presence as unknown as possible as a result. Still, she moved quickly. She didn’t expect the police to be on her tail (for she never thought her parents would report their runaway daughter as missing) but it was better to be safe than sorry. She’d been wandering for a few days now, though. Unless there were dogs that followed her and knew her scent, she was probably somewhat safe.
Or so she thought. Having taken a break from traveling to rest, she was sitting with her back against a giant oak tree when she heard a twig snap. Hesitantly, Ali looked over her shoulder and found a girl standing there, and out of reflex, she blinked before speaking nervously.
“W-who are you...? I don’t mean any harm, so please don’t kill me. I can explain...”
