Ethiopian Vlei Rat Otomys typus

A rodent found only in Ethiopia. It inhabits mesic grassland, montane grasslands, and alpine heaths. At higher altitudes in the Simien Mountains, northern Ethiopia, this species replaces O. simiensis, and is considered a common inhabitant of the afroalpine zone in the Simien Mountains National Park.
