Steve Rogers has been searching for information on his best friend who went missing years ago when they were only 15. His search brings him into the path of Sharon Carter, a special agent who works for the FBI's little-known Fringe division. After helping Sharon on a case (and meeting Fringe agents Wilson and "mad" scientists Stark and Banner), Steve is cautioned that "sometimes answers just lead to more questions." It turns out that Bucky was kidnapped to "Over There" after he was found injured and bleeding by agents during a reconnaissance mission. He was nursed back to health and given a new arm by Over There's Fringe Director Pym. Raised to investigate Fringe events and find a way to stop the effects of Over Here's late Howard Stark, Bucky was paired with Agent Romanoff, and the pair occasionally meet in a neutral bridge zone to swap intel with Sharon and Sam. Missions come and go and Steve finds himself drawn deeper into the Fringe, coming across other agents like Clint - who thanks to experiments by Tony's late father, has perfect vision and never misses a shot, and Scott, who is capable of shrinking and growing at will thanks to Stark's long-lost parter, Hank Pym. Thrilled to catch up with his best friend, Steve also finds himself romantically pursuing Sharon and teasing Bucky about Natasha. Eventually the only way both realities can survive is to close the bridge permanently. In a last minute decision, Bucky and Natasha decide to stay Over Here.
