1-13 COMPARISON; OTPlatonic verses OTP. BATTLE SET
I don’t even know why you bother going on anon. We all know who it is. You can’t hide from me. But. OTPlatonic vs. OTP. Lets do this!
OTPlatonic: Blake and Ruby
1) How did they meet? What was their first impression of one another? They met technically in middle school, but became real friends in High School. Blake was rather fond of Ruby initially, but they fell apart when they ended up going to separate schools for two years. They didn’t end up as best friends until Blake wandered back over to Ruby’s school. Ruby probably enjoyed Blake’s presence in middle school, but wasn’t truly adoringly fond of her until senior year.
2) What does this OTP(latonic) have in common with one another? What don’t they have in common? Okay. That’s a decent amount. But they’ve both got really wicked senses of humor and questionable morals, though Blake is definitely the mama hen of the two. They’re constantly on the same wavelengths because they’ve got so much in common and so aware of how the other thinks.
3) What is one thing that one person does that drives the other absolutely crazy? Blake isn’t that fond of Ruby’s….promiscuity….but that honestly don’t drive her too crazy. She’s learned to put up with it. Um. There’s nothing that really drives the Blake absolutely crazy; she’s very patient (or at least tries to be). Oh! How often she has to bail Ruby out of absolutely ridiculous situations.
4) How would they describe one another? Blake would describe Ruby as “loose morals, fixed heart.” Ruby definitely has some rather questionable morals (at least in Blake’s opinion) but if Ruby really wants something or loves someone, she doesn’t let go. Ever. Ruby would probably describe Blake as “Massive nerd who needs help.” Blake is always spewing out ridiculous facts and one day her technicalities are going to get her punched in the mouth. Probably by Ruby.
5) How did they flirt with one another before they began a relationship? Platonic flirting is so casual with them it’s not even funny. It basically just started with typical nicknames - Babe the most common - and later devolved into things like “Potato Cheeks.”
6) What moment made each person first realize they were in love with the other? I don’t think it was any one thing. I think it was just this duel need to be wanted and loved, and they figured that no one really gave them that platonically as well as the other.
7) Who made the first move? Ruby. She bit Blake on the thigh at a party. Blake had a bruise there for like a week. It was painful. The only natural solution was to become platonic soulmates.
8) What would they consider the most romantic thing that happened between them? The first time they realized their brains were on the same wavelength and they hated the same people vehemently.
9) What was their worst fight about? Who apologized first & how? Their worst fight was probably when Blake confronted about not agreeing with sleeping around with so many people. Blake is a smol asexual child who places commitment very high on her desirable qualities of a person, and she felt that Ruby was kinda tossing that quality to the wayside. It got bad - only in the sense that both girls drew back into theirselves and didn’t talk to each other for almost a week. Blake apologized first by throwing herself onto Ruby’s bed, sprawling over Ruby so she couldn’t leave and was forced to listen to everything Blake had to say.
10) Who gets jealous the most? That is a good question. Blake probably. She is rather jealous of anyone who threatens to take away her platonic soulmate status.
11) What do they admire the most about the other? Blake really admires Ruby’s ability to get back up no matter what. It may take her a while, and she may still be hurting, but she doesn’t let anything permanently knock her out. She always tries to get back up. Ruby probably admires Blake’s ability to try to see the best in people. Blake is generally really cynical, but she always tries to see some good somewhere. She has a very optimistic view on pessimism. She’s either right, or pleasantly surprised.
12) What would both say is their favorite memory of the other? Probably the time Blake had to drag Ruby out of a bar and did so very theatrically.
13) Who steals the covers the most? Ruby! But Blake doesn’t let it happen very often and fights back. This wakes Ruby up and then becomes an absolutely ridiculous battle of trying to steal the covers.
1) How did they meet? What was their first impression of one another? They’re both nerds and met at the library. Blake was trying to shelve some books and ended up running into Dick. She tried to apologize but kept stuttering because he was so attractive she just couldn’t form coherent words. Blake was rather confused by this super attractive guy actually checking out books in the library. Dick was surprised to actually see someone his age working at a library.
2) What does this OTP have in common with one another? They’re both rather shy, quiet nerds, who are rather fond of silence. They also get made fun of by their best friends (both of whom are super fond of alcohol) for their lack of desire to drink said alcohol.
3) What is one thing that one person does that drives the other absolutely crazy? I honestly don’t think there’s anything that drives the other absolutely crazy. Each has a quirk that slightly annoys the other, but there’s nothing that drives the other crazy.
4) How would they describe one another? Blake would describe as the perfect leader. He won’t ask anyone to do something that he wouldn’t do himself, and he always makes sure everyone around him is okay and they have everything they need. Dick would describe Blake as the perfect support. She tries her best to help anyone that needs it, even if she’s not particularly fond of them.
5) How did they flirt with one another before they began a relationship? It was so awkward, it wasn’t even really considered flirting. It was just awkward laughing and conversations and sputtered out “You have such a beautiful smile.”
6) What moment made each person first realize they were in love with the other? For Blake it was while they were on the couch, he was watching TV and she was reading a book. He had dozed off a bit and she looked up from her book and kinda just had this realization that this was someone she loved almost more than Ruby, and she wanted to spend the rest of her life with him. For Dick, it was probably when he watched Blake drop everything and run to help Ruby. He realized that she was someone who would do anything for anyone, and he was so afraid people would try to use that, and he didn’t like that idea.
7) Who made the first move? Dick. He was so nervous and had to ask Ruby for help, but he made the first move. Slid a note in the book she was reading at the time and asked her out on a date.
8) What would they consider the most romantic thing that happened between them? Probably when they both admitted that they loved each other. It was a very simple night in, and Dick turned down the TV and turned to Blake and he got really shy and mentioned that he loved her and she said it back.
9) What was their worst fight about? Who apologized first & how? Their worst fight was about Blake being worried about him, especially when deployed. But it wasn’t really a fight - more of her admitting that she was scared to lose him and that she didn’t know what she would do. She had Ruby but it would never be the same again. Dick apologized first. He pulled her tightly to his chest and just whispered that he would be safe into her hair over and over. Every other sentence was that he was so sorry.
10) Who gets jealous the most? Probably Blake. She sees the way other women look at him. She knows he would never wonder, but she still can’t help that pang of jealousy when any woman flirts with him. He’s so innocent he barely realizes it half the time anyway.
11) What do they admire the most about the other? Blake admires his compassion for his friends. How he wants them safe and how he wants to always look out for them. She admires his bright personality and how he doesn’t let life drag him down. Dick admires how she works so hard to cheer others up when she’s hurting herself.
12) What would both say is their favorite memory of the other? Their first date probably. Their first proper one. They went to the park later at night, set out a blanket and watched the stars. There was something about the light of the stars that just made it such a beautiful scene that neither can forget it.
13) Who steals the covers the most? Blake. But it’s mostly just to get Dick to move closer and snuggle with her. She is very conniving when she wants to be.
